No escribiré ahora, salvo para decirte que tu condición espiritual ha mejorado mucho y que estás progresando en tus percepciones álmicas de la verdad y de la realidad del Padre y Su Amor.

Sí, lo sé; pero debes recordar dos cosas con respecto a los escritos de la Biblia que se me atribuyen: primero, que muchos de los dichos que contiene no los escribí ni autoricé su escritura; y segundo, que en la época en que viví en la tierra y escribí, mi conocimiento de la verdad y de Dios no era tan grande ni tan preciso como lo es ahora. Me doy cuenta de que algunas cosas que entonces creía y enseñaba no concordaban con la verdad tal como la conozco ahora; incluso el concepto que tenía de Jesús, de su misión en la tierra y de su regreso a ella, no era verdadero.
Por aquel entonces, aunque fui un compañero cercano del Maestro y recibí de él muchas lecciones e instrucciones, yo era un hombre bastante ignorante y no captaba el significado espiritual de sus enseñanzas; y hasta el momento de mi fallecimiento, mis creencias estaban más teñidas por lo material que por lo espiritual. Por ejemplo: yo, al igual que los otros discípulos, suponía que él volvería a la Tierra en breve ─en cualquier momento inesperado─ para establecer su reino. Ahora bien, y esto es un hecho: a pesar de que él había dicho que su reino sería espiritual, aunque existente en la tierra, yo no podía disociar de mi concepción sobre el establecimiento y la existencia de dicho reino, la idea de que, de alguna manera, sería un reino real y visible en el que el Maestro sería el rey y gobernaría como los demás reyes, con la diferencia de que sería un gobierno de justicia.
Todo esto puede parecerte un poco extraño; pero si consideras por un momento que mis enseñanzas como judío iban en el sentido de que, cuando viniera el Mesías, él reinaría efectivamente en la tierra como un rey, comprenderás lo difícil que me resultaba captar la idea, o distinguir entre ese tipo de reino y uno puramente espiritual.
En algún momento te escribiré con más detalle sobre este asunto, pues reconozco su importancia, ya que muchos ─sí, la mayoría de los que se profesan cristianos─ creen ahora que Jesús vendrá a la tierra en algún momento y establecerá un reino material para gobernar sobre todas las naciones. Algunos de estos cristianos entusiastas creen que estarán entre los elegidos y se convertirán en príncipes y subgobernantes de ese reino, como hombres materiales llamados por la resurrección para volver a ser humanos, aunque glorificados ─según algunos de ellos lo esperan, en su fe─. Pues bien, se llevarán una decepción, pues cuando pasen de lo mortal a lo espiritual, permanecerán para siempre como espíritus, y el único reino en el que vivirán después será un reino espiritual. Y este reino, ya sea el del hombre restaurado o el del ángel Divino, no va a estar en la tierra.
Debo detenerme ya.
Así que ora al Padre y esfuérzate por una fe más profunda y permanente, y comprenderás la verdad y esta experiencia.

Testimonio de Saúl: Muchas leyes del Antiguo Testamento le llegaron por tradición (7 abril 1916)
Estoy aquí, Saúl.
Deseo escribirte un breve mensaje esta noche, como te prometí hace poco.
No te entretendré mucho y trataré de que mi mensaje sea lo más conciso posible.
Sé que muchos me consideran, tal como se me describe en el Antiguo Testamento, un gran pecador y transgresor de las leyes de Dios. Bueno, en gran medida es cierto, pues no permití que la voluntad de Dios me gobernara como debía haber hecho y, en consecuencia, entré en discordancia con ella e hice muchas cosas contrarias a las leyes de Dios. Por supuesto, mi conocimiento de estas leyes se limitaba a las enseñanzas de Moisés y de los profetas, tal como me fueron transmitidas por tradición y de viva voz.
Los libros que forman parte del Antiguo Testamento no fueron escritos en mi época, y muchas de esas leyes me llegaron por tradición. El Antiguo Testamento contiene muchos relatos escritos mucho después de los tiempos en que se afirma que ocurrieron; y muchas de las cosas que allí se declaran nunca existieron, salvo en la mente de hombres que, en periodos muy posteriores, consideraron que sería prudente escribirlas. Muchos supuestos incidentes relacionados con mi vida nunca tuvieron lugar, y fueron meras ficciones escritas por autores posteriores.
En mi época, teníamos muy pocos escritos en forma de manuscritos, y los hombres dependían de la tradición y de la memoria. Pues bien, la historia de mi vida y de mis actos no fue escrita en el momento en que se pretende que lo fue. Yo fui una persona real y un rey, y algunos registros sobre mí y mi pueblo sí fueron efectivamente redactados; pero eran muy pocos, y con el paso del tiempo la imaginación y el ingenio los enriquecieron a modo de tradición. Entonces, los libros que se refieren a mí, tal como ahora aparecen en la Biblia, fueron recopilados a partir de algunos de esos escritos y de la tradición. La historia de mi encuentro con la bruja de Endor, como se la llama, no fue escrita en aquel entonces; pero es un hecho que la visité y tuve una experiencia algo similar a la relatada en la Biblia. En el momento de mi visita, me acompañaban algunos de mis seguidores, quienes vieron y oyeron lo que sucedió; así que, tras mi muerte, relataron y describieron lo ocurrido a mis compatriotas, así como también a los seguidores de David. Algunos detalles de este suceso quedaron inscritos en los materiales que usábamos para conservar algunos de los reportes de aquella época. Sin embargo, no se guardó una crónica precisa de la escena. La gente de entonces tenía una memoria muy tenaz, y durante muchos años este episodio de mi vida fue transmitido de generación en generación, con fragmentos escritos por diversos escribas.
Te escribo esto simplemente para mostrarte que no debes dar crédito a las supuestas verdades de muchos dichos del Antiguo Testamento, pues muchos de esos relatos carecen de base real.
Sé que lo que he escrito no es de gran importancia, pero ya que estás recibiendo estas verdades, bien podrías conocer algo de lo que fue cierto en mi vida.

Jesús aconseja al sr. Padgett. Está deseoso de que alcance la condición álmica necesaria para que Jesús pueda continuar transmitiendo sus mensajes a la humanidad (14 febrero 1920)
Aquí estoy, Jesús.
Bien, discípulo mío, entiendo que tu deseo es que te transmita un mensaje esta noche, y anhelo hacerlo. Sin embargo, veo que no te encuentras en las condiciones necesarias para que yo pueda asumir el control de tu cerebro, algo que se precisa para escribir satisfactoriamente. Lamento que así sea, pero es una realidad; tendremos que esperar un poco más, aunque no demasiado, pues has mejorado mucho. Si continúas orando, pronto vas a estar en la condición álmica que me permita establecer la vinculación. Todavía quedan muchos mensajes por escribir, y estoy deseoso de que los recibas para que puedan ser entregados a todo el mundo; pues la humanidad ya está despertando a una mayor comprensión del hecho de que el ser humano es espiritual y requiere alimento de esa misma naturaleza. La guerra está llevando a muchas personas a reflexionar sobre el más allá y el destino del alma; y el conocimiento que el mundo posee actualmente sobre la vida futura es muy escaso e insatisfactorio; apenas se limita a saber que el espíritu sobrevive a la muerte y experimenta una mayor o menor felicidad en la vida espiritual.
Como bien sabes, esto no es lo vital en el destino del ser humano; pues si bien el conocimiento de la supervivencia tras la muerte física puede brindar ─y brinda de hecho─ un gran consuelo a los allegados y seres queridos que quedan en la tierra, tal hecho no determina en lo más mínimo la condición ni el destino del alma que ha abandonado su morada carnal. No existen medios conocidos hoy por el hombre para mostrar ese destino, salvo algunos pasajes bíblicos que son objeto de mucha especulación, controversia y falta de convicción. El consuelo de quienes tienen fe en la Biblia se fundamenta en dicha fe o, mejor dicho, en la mayoría de los casos, en la creencia. Sin embargo, hay cierta cantidad de creyentes en las verdades bíblicas que tienen una percepción álmica consciente de su verdadero significado, y que poseen una fe que les confirma en la certidumbre de los hechos de su destino, así como en la posesión del Amor en sus almas.
Pronto volveré e intentaré escribir un mensaje formal; mientras tanto, que tus oraciones asciendan al Padre con mayor sinceridad y anhelo.
Como sabes, te quiero como a mi hermano y discípulo, y te acompaño en tus oraciones cada noche, uniéndonos en ellas. Debes permitir que tu fe crezca y creer que tus oraciones son escuchadas y serán respondidas plenamente. No escribiré más por ahora.
Así que, hermano mío, buenas noches, y que el Padre te bendiga con Sus mayores bendiciones.

Alma encarnada, por Jesús (15 febrero 1920)
Estoy aquí, Jesús.
Estoy aquí, como prometí anoche, y escribiré sobre el tema del Alma Encarnada.
En tus estudios sobre las diferentes teorías de la creación del hombre, puede que hayas observado que siempre surge la cuestión de la relación entre lo espiritual y lo físico ─es decir, la del alma y el cuerpo material─. Sé que se han propuesto numerosas teorías sobre cómo y cuándo el alma se volvió parte del cuerpo físico, cuáles fueron los medios dispuestos por las leyes de la naturaleza ─tal como se las denomina─ para el alojamiento del alma en dicho cuerpo, y la relación que existía entre ambos. Por supuesto, esto solo se aplica a aquellos mortales que creen en la existencia de un alma cuya existencia y funciones son distintas a las del mero cuerpo físico. En cuanto a quienes no creen en el alma como entidad distintiva, no pretendo esclarecerles esta cuestión, sino dejar que constaten este hecho cuando hayan pasado al mundo espiritual y se encuentren existiendo sin tal cuerpo, pero existiendo realmente, con el reconocimiento consciente de ser almas.
Cuando se crea el cuerpo físico, este carece de la consciencia de haber sido algo creado; pues no es más que una creación inconsciente entre las demás criaturas materiales de la naturaleza y compuesta por ellas, y no siente ni percibe en grado alguno el hecho de ser un ser vivo que depende del sustento adecuado de su madre para su crecimiento y supervivencia, de acuerdo con las leyes de la naturaleza y los propósitos de su propia creación. El padre y la madre, siendo necesarios para la creación o formación de esta producción meramente animal, solo saben que de alguna manera ha llegado a existir un embrión que podría acabar convirtiéndose en un ser humano semejante a ellos. Si a este ser se le permitiera permanecer sin el alma, pronto dejaría de cumplir el propósito de su creación y se desintegraría en los elementos que lo conforman, y la humanidad dejaría de existir como habitante de la Tierra. Esta parte física del hombre es en realidad, y únicamente, el resultado de la confluencia de las fuerzas inherentes a ambos sexos, las cuales, según las leyes de la naturaleza o de la creación humana, están destinadas a producir un cuerpo único, apropiado para ser la morada del alma que se sienta atraída hacia él, a fin de desarrollar su individualidad como ser vivo y con posible inmortalidad.
El resultado de esta confluencia está tan solo destinado a servir como una envoltura o protección temporal para el desarrollo del ser real, y no limita ni influye en modo alguno en la existencia continua del alma. Una vez que sus funciones han cesado, el alma ─que entonces ya se ha individualizado─ continúa su vida en nuevos entornos y en progresión gradual; mientras que el mero instrumento utilizado para su individualización se dispersa en los elementos que conforman su apariencia y sustancia. Y así como este cuerpo fue llamado de entre los elementos con un propósito determinado, una vez cumplido dicho propósito, regresa a ellos.
Este cuerpo, por sí mismo, carece de consciencia y sensación; al principio solo posee la vida prestada de sus progenitores; pero cuando el alma encuentra en él su alojamiento, ya solo posee la vida del alma: pues la vida humana solo puede existir mientras el alma habita el cuerpo y, una vez que comienza dicho proceso, la vida prestada de los progenitores deja de ejercer influencia o fuerza rectora alguna sobre el cuerpo. Esta es, pues, la verdadera descripción del cuerpo físico; y si esto fuera todo lo que constituye al hombre, este perecería con la muerte del cuerpo y dejaría de existir como parte de la creación del universo de Dios.
Mas el alma es la parte vital, viviente, y la parte del hombre que nunca muere ─es, en realidad, el hombre mismo─, y es lo único destinado a continuar existiendo en el mundo espiritual. Fue creada a imagen de Dios, y en su existencia no existe una razón necesaria para que continúe vinculada al cuerpo físico. Cuando los hombres afirman o creen que el cuerpo lo es todo para el ser humano y que, al morir, el hombre deja de existir, no comprenden la relación ni el funcionamiento del alma y el cuerpo; solo conocen la verdad a medias que sus sentidos perciben: que el cuerpo muere y jamás puede ser resucitado. Este es un hecho irrefutable, y todos los argumentos por analogía que pretenden demostrar que el ser humano debe seguir viviendo a pesar de la muerte de dicho cuerpo son inadecuados y poco concluyentes [por ejemplo, podríamos analogizar con una oruga y una mariposa: la mariposa no parece estar en la oruga de la que derivó, pero eso no demuestraría nada «por analogía», pues la mariposa también morirá (ver nota abajo)]. Todas estas apariencias análogas solo demuestran que los objetos de la analogía terminan por morir; y, por tanto, no logran probar que tales objetos sean eternos, siendo la misma situación que si nunca hubieran experimentado cambio alguno en su condición o apariencia [del mismo modo que si sólo argumentáramos con una oruga que sólo sea oruga y no sea del tipo de «gusano» que da pie a mariposa (ver t. nota abajo)]. Lo que se demuestra es que finalmente mueren; y así, al aplicar esta analogía al ser humano, lo que se demuestra es que él también muere y deja de existir.
Pero surgen las preguntas: ¿de dónde proviene el alma?, ¿quién la creó?, ¿cómo se encarna en el ser humano y con qué propósito?, y ¿cuál es su destino?
Permíteme aclarar, primero, que el hombre no interviene en absoluto en la creación del alma ni en su manifestación en la carne. Su labor consiste en proporcionar un receptáculo para su llegada; ser un mero anfitrión, por así decirlo, para su entrada en la carne y su existencia como mortal, o bajo la apariencia de un mortal. No obstante, su responsabilidad en este aspecto es muy grande, pues el hombre puede destruir ese receptáculo o cuidarlo, de modo que el alma pueda permanecer en la vida terrenal durante más o menos tiempo. Y si bien este receptáculo es creación del hombre, y sin él no podría ser traída a la existencia, el alma no forma parte alguna de dicha creación y es independiente del cuerpo. Tras la vida terrenal, en el mundo espiritual, el alma dejará de recordar que alguna vez estuvo conectada a la creación de sus padres o que dependió de ella. En la vida espiritual, en verdad, el alma está tan separada y disociada de aquel cuerpo que fue su hogar en la tierra, que lo considera una mera visión del pasado y deja de ser objeto de su interés.
Como ya se te ha dicho, el alma fue creada por el Padre mucho antes de su aparición en la carne, y aguardaba dicha encarnación con el único propósito de adquirir una individualidad de la que carecía en su preexistencia; estado en el cual posee una naturaleza dual ─masculina y femenina─ que requiere ser escindida y convertida en individual. Quienes hemos pasado por esta preexistencia y encarnación en la carne, y hemos obtenido dicha individualidad, conocemos la verdad de lo que aquí he afirmado.
Existe una ley divina que rige estos procesos y faculta a estas almas preexistentes para reconocer [knowing] la conveniencia de la encarnación; por ello, siempre están deseosas y preparadas ante la oportunidad de nacer en la carne y asumir esa individualidad separada cuyo logro constituye su privilegio. Al proporcionar los hombres el receptáculo para su aparición y morada, por así decirlo, las almas se percatan de este hecho y aprovechan la oportunidad de ocupar dicho receptáculo, convirtiéndose así, en apariencia, en seres humanos, con el consiguiente e inevitable resultado de la individualidad.
Me alegra que te encuentres mejor y continuaré con los mensajes, tal como estábamos deseando hacer desde hace algún tiempo.

Nota propia para aclaración (precisada y ajustada en su redacción después de que la IA-Gemini la rehaga y parafrasee):
Cuando habla de analogías, Jesús se estaría refiriendo a la clásica analogía espiritualista: tal como la oruga ‘muere’ y da paso a una mariposa, el ser humano sobreviviría a la muerte. Pero Jesús rebate esto: señala que tal mariposa es también un ser mortal; por lo tanto la analogía solo prueba la transformación biológica, y no la eternidad del ser.
Jesús además argumenta que el cambio de estado (oruga ─ mariposa) es irrelevante para probar la inmortalidad. Si el destino final de esos dos estados es la desintegración, la analogía es tan inútil para probar la vida eterna como si el objeto nunca hubiera cambiado de apariencia (si la oruga hubiera seguido siendo oruga hasta morir).

I AM HERE, John.
I will not write now, except to say, that your spiritual condition is much improved and you are advancing in your soul perceptions of the truth and of the reality of the Father and His Love.

Yes, I know, but you must remember two things with reference to the writings in the Bible ascribed to me, namely:First, that many of the sayings therein contained, I did not write or authorize to be written, and, secondly, that at the time I lived on earth and wrote, my knowledge of the truth and of God was not so great or so correct as it is now. I realize that some things I then believed and taught, were not in accord with the truth as I now know it to be – even my conception of Jesus and his mission on earth, and his return to earth, was not true. Then, although I was a close companion of the Master and had many lessons of instructions from him, I was a quite ignorant man and did not grasp the spiritual meanings of his teachings, and up to the time of my decease, my beliefs were more colored by things of the material than by those of the spiritual. For instance. I, as did the other disciples, supposed that he was coming to earth again in a short time-at any unexpected time – and set up his kingdom on earth. Now, this is a fact, notwithstanding that he had said that his kingdom would be a spiritual kingdom, though existing on earth. I could not dissociate from my conception of the establishment and existence of this kingdom, the idea, that in some way it would be an actual, visible kingdom in which the Master would be the king, and rule as other kings ruled, except it would be a rule of righteousness.
All this may seem a little strange to you. but if you will consider for a moment that my teachings as a Jew were to the effect that when the Messiah came, he would actually rule on earth as a king, you will understand how difficult it was for me to get the idea, or make the distinction between that kind of kingdom and one which would be purely spiritual.
At sometime, I will write you more fully on this matter, for I realize its importance, as many, yes a majority of the professed Christians, now believe that Jesus, at sometime, will come to earth and establish a material kingdom and rule all the nations of the earth; and some of these enthusiastic Christians believe that they will be of the elect, and become princes and sub-rulers in that kingdom, as material men called by the resurrection to again become the human, although glorified, as some of them express their faith. Well, they will be disappointed, for when they shall have passed from the mortal to the spirit, they will forever remain spirits, and the only kingdom that they will live in thereafter will be a spirit kingdom; and that, whether the kingdom of the restored man or of the Divine angel, will not be on the earth.
I must stop now.
So pray to the Father and strive for a deeper and more abiding faith, and you will realize the truth and this experience.

Saul’s testimony – Many laws of the 0ld Testament came to him by tradition. (7 Apr 1916)
I AM HERE, Saul.
I very much desire to write a short message tonight as I promised you a short time ago.
I will not detain you very long, and will try to make my message as succinct as possible.
I know that many men look upon me, as depicted in the Old Testament, as having been a great sinner and violator of God’s laws. Well, that is largely true, for I did not let God’s will control me as I should have done, and consequently, I became in discord with His will, and did many things that were contrary to His laws. Of course my knowledge of these laws was limited to the teachings of Moses and the prophets, as they were given to me by tradition and word of mouth.
The books which are part of the Old Testament were not written in my time, and many of these laws came to me by tradition. The Old Testament contains many sayings which were written long after the times that they purport to have occurred, and many things therein declared never had any existence, except in the minds of men, who, at much later periods, conceived that it might be wise to write these things. Many alleged incidents connected with my life, never had an existence, and were merely the fictions written by subsequent writers.
We had very few writings in the shape of manuscript in my time, and men depended upon tradition and memory. Well, the history of my life and doings, was not written at the time it purports to have been written. I was a real person and a king, and some records of me and my people were actually written, but they were very few, and as time went by the imagination and ingenuity added to them in the way of tradition, and then those books relating to me, as they are now contained in the Bible, were compiled from some of these writings and from tradition. The story of my experience with the witch of Endor, as she is called, was not written at the time; but it is a fact that I had visited her, and had an experience somewhat similar to that related in the Bible. I had with me at the time of my visit, some of my followers, and they saw and heard what took place, and after my death, they repeated and described what had taken place to my countrymen, and also to the followers of David; and some parts of this occurrence became inscribed on the materials which we used to preserve some of the occurrences of those times. But there was not kept any accurate history of the scene. The people of those days had retentive memories, and for long years afterwards this incident of my life was handed down from generation to generation, and some parts thereof were written by some scribes and other parts by other scribes.
I merely write you this to show that you need not give credit to the supposed truths of many sayings of the Old Testament, for many of these accounts had no existence.
I know that what I have written is not of much importance, but while you are receiving these truths, you had as well learn something of what was true in my life.

Jesus gives advice to Mr. Padgett. Is anxious for him to get into condition of soul so that Jesus can continue his messages to mankind. (14 Feb 1920)
I AM HERE, Jesus.
Well, my disciple, I realize that your desires are that I shall deliver a message to you tonight, and I am anxious to do so, yet I see you are not in condition that I may take possession of your brain that is necessary in order to write satisfactorily. I am sorry that this is so, but it is a fact, and we will have to wait awhile longer, which will not be very long, for you are much improved, and if you continue to pray you will soon become in that soul condition that will enable me to make the rapport. There are many messages yet to be written and I am anxious that you receive them in order that they may be delivered to the world, for the world is now awakening to a greater realization of the fact that man is spiritual and must have spiritual food. The war is causing many people to think of the hereafter and the destiny of the soul; and the knowledge that the world now has of the future life is very meager and unsatisfactory, merely a knowledge that the spirit survives death and experiences more or less happiness in the spirit life.
As you know, this is not the vital thing in the destiny of man, for while a knowledge of the survival of man from the death of the physical, may and does give a great deal of consolation to the near and dear ones who are left on earth, yet that fact does not, in the slightest degree, determine the condition or destiny of the soul that has left its home in the flesh; and there are no means, now known to men, to show that destiny, except some things written in the Bible which are the subjects of much speculation and controversy and want of belief. The consolation of those who have faith in the Bible is founded on that faith, or rather, in most cases, belief; but there are a number of believers in the truths of the Bible, with a conscious soul perception of their real meaning, who have that faith which makes certain to them the facts of destiny, and the possession of love in their souls.
I will come soon and endeavor to write a formal message; in the meantime let your prayers ascend with more earnestness and longings to the Father.
As you know, I love you as my brother and disciple, and am with you as you pray each night, uniting in our prayers, and you must let your faith increase, and believe that your prayers are being heard, and will be answered to the fullest. I will not write more now.
So my brother, good night, and may the Father bless you with His greatest blessings.

Incarnate soul, by Jesus. (15 Feb 1920)
I AM HERE, Jesus.
I am here as I promised last night and will write on the subject of the Incarnate Soul.
You may have observed in your studies of the different theories of the creation of man that always the question has arisen as to the relationship of the spiritual and physical – that is, as to the soul and the material body. I know that many theories have been set forth as to how and when the soul became a part of the physical body and what was the means adopted by the laws of nature, as they are called, for the lodgment of the soul into that body, and the relationship that one bore to the other. Of course this applies only to those mortals who believe that there is a soul separate in its existence and functionings from the mere physical body; as to those who do not believe in the distinctive soul. I do not attempt to enlighten but leave them to a realization of the fact when they shall have come into the spirit world and find themselves existing without such body, but really existing, with the consciousness that they are souls.
When the physical body is created it has no consciousness of its having been created, for it is merely of the unconscious creations that are of the other material creatures of nature, and does not feel or sense in any degree the fact, that it is a living thing dependent upon the proper nourishment of its mother for its growth and continued life in accordance with the laws of nature, and the objects of its own creation. The father and mother, being necessary to the creation or formation of this merely animal production, know only that in some way there has come into existence an embryo thing that may eventuate into a human being like unto themselves. If this thing were allowed to remain without the soul it would soon fail to fulfill the object of its creation and disintegrate into the elements of which it is formed, and mankind would cease to exist as inhabitants of the earth. This physical part of man is really and only the result of the commingling of those forces that are contained in the two sexes, which according to the laws of nature, or of man’s creation, are suited to produce the one body fitted for the home of the soul that may be attracted to it, to develop its individuality as a thing of life and possible immortality.
The result of this commingling is intended only as a temporary covering or protection for the growth of the real being, and does not in any way limit or influence the continuous existence of the soul, and when its functions have ended, the soul, which has then become individualized, continues its life in new surroundings and in gradual progression, and the mere instrument used for its individualization is disseminated into the elements forming its appearance and substance. As this body was called from the elements for a certain purpose, when that purpose shall have been served, it returns to these elements.
This body, of itself, has neither consciousness nor sensation, and in the beginning has only the borrowed life of its parents, and then when the soul finds its lodgment, it has only the life of the soul: for the human life can exist only so long as the soul inhabits the body, and after such habitation commences, the borrowed life of the parents ceases to exercise any influence or directing force on the body. This, then, is really the true description of the physical body, and if it were all of man, he would perish with its death and cease to exist as a part of the creation of the universe of God.
But the soul is the vital, living and never dying part of man – is really the man – and the only thing that was intended to continue an existence in the spirit world. It was made in the image of God, and there is no reason for its existing for the continuing companionship of the physical body. And when men say or believe that the body is all of man, and when it dies man ceases to exist, they do not understand the relationship or functioning of soul and body, and know only the half truth which is visible to their senses – that the body dies and can never again be resuscitated. This is a determined fact and all arguments by analogy, to show that man must continue to live notwithstanding the death of that body, are not apposite and very inconclusive. All these analogous appearances only show that the objects of the analogy ultimately die, and thus fail to prove that these objects are eternal, just as much as if there had never been any change in their condition or appearance. The final demonstration is that they die, and when this analogy is applied to man, it must show that he dies also, and is no more.
But the questions are asked, whence comes the soul, by whom created, how does it become incarnated in man and for what purpose, and what is its destiny?
First let me state, that man has nothing to do with the creation of the soul or its appearance in the flesh. His work is to provide a receptacle for its coming – a mere host, as it were, for its entry into the flesh, and existence as a mortal or in the appearance of a mortal. But his responsibility in this particular is very great, for man can destroy that receptacle, or care for it so that the soul may continue in earth life a longer or shorter time. And while this receptacle is the creation of man and without him it could not be brought into existence, yet the soul is no part of his creation and is independent of the body – and after the earth life, in the spirit world, it will cease to remember that it was ever connected with or dependent upon the creation of its parents. The soul, in the spirit life, as a truth, is so separated from and dissociated with that body which was its home while in the earth life that it looks upon it as a mere vision of the past and not a subject for its consideration.
As has been told you, the soul was created by the Father long before its appearance in the flesh, and awaited such incarnation for the purpose only of giving it an individuality, which it did not have in its preexistence, and in which it has a duplex personality – male and female – that is needed to be separated and made individual. We who have had this preexistence and incarnation in the flesh and have obtained this individuality, know the truth of what I have here stated.
There is a law of God controlling these things that renders these preexisting souls capable of knowing the desirability of incarnation and they are always anxious and ready for the opportunity to be born in the flesh and to assume the separate individuality that they are privileged to assume. As men provide the receptacle for their appearing and homing, as it were, they become aware of the fact and take advantage of the opportunity to occupy the receptacle, and become ostensibly a human being with the necessary result of individuality.
I am glad that you are in a better condition and will continue the messages as we have been desiring to do for some time.
