Estoy aquí, Jesús.
Estuve contigo esta noche y mi espíritu estuvo en tu corazón hasta tal punto que te hizo sentir su presencia y te causó un poco de sufrimiento físico; pero [mi espíritu] estuvo allí para decirte que yo estaba presente y que mi amor te estaba ayudando a acercarte al Padre y a Su Amor.
Sé que quienes me adoraban no hacían algo que yo apruebe o que me guste, pero sus corazones estaban vueltos hacia Dios; y, aunque me consideraban como el objeto de su adoración, no obstante, el espíritu de Dios estaba con ellos, y la obra del Espíritu Santo estaba en los corazones de muchos de ellos, mostrándoles el amor del Padre y la verdad de Su salvación.
Por supuesto, se equivocan cuando hablan de ser salvos por mi sangre, pues ésta no tiene nada que ver con su salvación; pero como se les ha enseñado esto, no puedo esperar que reconozcan la verdadera salvación que el Padre les ha provisto. Algún día sabrán que sólo el Amor Divino del Padre salva del pecado y del error, y que ni mi sangre ni la muerte en la cruz pueden salvarlos.
Mas, a pesar de dicha falsa creencia, estas personas en sus oraciones realmente aspiran al Amor de Dios, y Él conoce los anhelos de sus corazones y envía al Espíritu Santo para llenarlos de este Amor Divino que los acerca mucho al Padre y los hace felices.
Así que, aunque, como digo, no me gusta que me adoren, la verdad del Amor de Dios penetra en sus almas y se unen con Él en la medida en que ese Amor entra en sus almas.
Sé que, con tu iluminación, te parece que ellos cometen un gran error al adorarme y creer que mi sangre los salva; sin embargo, debes comprender que, aunque cometan tales errores, reciben el Amor Divino, y que éste obra para redimirlos de sus pecados y malas vidas. Así que no dejes que este error en su creencia te haga pensar que no estoy con ellos, o más bien, que el espíritu Crístico no está con ellos, enseñándoles el camino hacia el Amor del Padre y hacia la gran felicidad que ese Amor les brinda.
Sé que la reunión te hizo un gran bien y abrió tu alma a la afluencia de este Amor y, en consecuencia, a una fe y confianza renovadas, a un amor renovado por el Padre y a la creencia en mí.
Deja que este Amor en ti crezca, y ruega al Padre por más fe en Sus promesas y por una mayor afluencia de Su Amor, y muy pronto percibirás Su presencia real en tu alma hasta un punto tal que te hará reconocer que eres uno con Él en el Amor y en la posesión de la Esencia Divina que hará que toda duda te abandone, y te dará una fe en la que no surgirá ninguna duda.
Me alegra que fueras a este encuentro esta noche, y espero que vuelvas, pues las influencias que asistían te fueron útiles y provenían de lo alto.
Pronto volveré a escribirte como deseo, si tan solo oras más y confías más.
Estás pensando correctamente, y oraré al Padre por ti, y si persistes en tus deseos y tratas de actuar en consonancia con nuestras oraciones, tendrás éxito; porque el Padre escuchará tus oraciones y te ayudará al máximo.
Y, además, estaré contigo y te ayudaré con mi poder y amor.
Así pues, haz lo que te digo, y sobre todo ten fe en el Padre y confía en mí.

Francis Bacon sobre la continuidad de la vida después de la muerte (26 mayo 1919)
Permíteme escribir unas líneas esta noche sobre un tema que ha sido discutido recientemente por un espiritualista, un predicador, un filósofo y un científico: la continuidad de la vida después de la muerte del cuerpo físico. Cada uno de estos escritores aborda el tema desde una perspectiva diferente, pero todos llegan a la misma conclusión, basándose en distintos métodos de argumentación: que la vida continúa después de la muerte.
Este tema es de vital interés para la humanidad y merece la consideración de las mentes más brillantes de la investigación y la exploración. Debe estudiarse tanto a la luz de la naturaleza como a la luz de la demostración efectiva mediante las experiencias de quienes han demostrado a la humanidad que los espíritus de sus amigos y conocidos fallecidos, y de otras personas de mayor o menor distinción cuando estaban en su vida física, viven realmente y comunican a los hombres su existencia y la posesión de las facultades mentales y los pensamientos que tenían en su vida mortal.
El estudio adecuado del hombre demostraría este hecho, y lógicamente la duda dejaría de existir. Sin embargo, la dificultad radica en que los hombres no comprenden al hombre, ni su creación, ni sus facultades, ni su relación con las cosas de la vida conocidas como materia o lo material. Es creencia común que la materia ahora existente, o mejor dicho, lo que los hombres ven y conocen de lo material, es todo lo cognoscible, y que, cuando lo meramente físico ─como se entiende comúnmente─ deja de existir, la mente finita del hombre no puede obtener ni comprender ningún conocimiento ulterior y distinto al respecto.
Pero esta suposición aceptada no es cierta, y si el hombre tan sólo reflexionara un instante sobre qué es la materia o lo material, comprendería las posibilidades de sus mecanismos y funcionamiento, y también el uso que pueden darle las mentes de los espíritus que operan sobre ella en el mundo espiritual; es decir, en el mundo que está más allá de la captación de los cinco sentidos humanos, que son sólo los medios por los que los espíritus operan en el rango [purview] ordinario de la vida física.
La materia es eterna y existe en todas las esferas del mundo espiritual, al igual que en la Tierra, aunque en diferentes formas y atenuaciones, y en unas condiciones que pueden o no ser objeto de los sentidos físicos, o de los sentidos de la mente, que son superiores a, o excluyentes de, estos meros sentidos físicos. La materia es, en su naturaleza esencial, la misma, a pesar del hecho de que asume diferentes formas: algunas son visibles para los sentidos ordinarios del hombre, pero otras son completamente ajenas a esa visión o sensación, y en cuanto a estos sentidos, completamente inexistentes; sin embargo, para estos otros sentidos de la mente, es tan real, manejable y sujeta a la influencia de los mecanismos de la mente, como lo es la materia meramente física para los cinco sentidos del hombre.
El mundo en el que vivimos está compuesto de lo material, y el mundo en el que yo vivo también está compuesto de lo material, de la misma naturaleza, pero con diferentes consistencias y cualidades objetivas. La materia del universo siempre es material, sea o no cognoscible por el hombre y esté o no sujeta a sus pensamientos, invenciones y usos. Y a medida que el hombre progresa en su estudio ─me refiero al práctico y experimental─, descubrirá que existen elementos de la naturaleza material que se están desarrollando y dando a conocer, y que hace unos años desconocía por completo. Tal es el descubrimiento y uso de la electricidad, y el funcionamiento de las leyes de la naturaleza que le permiten hacer posibles los efectos de la telegrafía inalámbrica. Estos descubrimientos, y el funcionamiento de las fuerzas de lo invisible, son ni más ni menos que un cierto tipo de conocimiento que las controla, tal como se ha hecho evidente para su consciencia [These discoveries and workings of forces of the unseen are nothing more or less than a certain kind of knowledge controlling the same as to his consciousness has become apparent.]. Pero en todas estas operaciones, se utiliza la materia, y no cualquier poder espiritual, tal como lo entienden comúnmente los hombres. Así, como ves, la materia, ya sea en el plano físico de la tierra o en el más atenuado e invisible del mundo espiritual, es lo que se utiliza para producir efectos y es sobre lo que la mente opera, sea tangible y comprensible o no.
La mente es una entidad indivisible y unida, y no se puede separar en subjetivo y objetivo, tal como se suele enseñar, excepto en cuanto a lo siguiente: en su funcionamiento, la parte de la mente que controla el cerebro en los asuntos cotidianos de la vida puede llamarse objetiva, y la parte que es la adecuada ─y la que es utilizada─ para controlar lo material después de que se haya transformado en lo puramente invisible, puede llamarse subjetiva. Pero todo ello es una sola mente, y existe en el hombre mientras está en la tierra, tal como lo hará y lo hace cuando se convierte en un espíritu.
El hombre, en su travesía por la vida ─y me refiero tanto a su vida terrenal como a la parte eterna de su existencia─ siempre es de lo material; es decir, su alma tiene una envoltura y apariencia materiales, y si bien esta envoltura cambia en apariencia y calidad a medida que progresa en las esferas, tanto lo físico denso de su vida terrenal como lo espiritual sublimado de la parte eterna de su vida, son de lo material ─reales, existentes y tangibles─, y son utilizados para el propósito de su creación, a saber: la protección e individualización del alma que contienen.
Siendo así, se puede comprender fácilmente que el hombre, al abandonar la parte física más burda del cuerpo humano, no deja de ser material, sino que se convierte en habitante del material más fino y puro de aquello que se llama su cuerpo espiritual; y este cuerpo está sujeto a las leyes que rigen la materia, tal como su cuerpo físico estaba sujeto a dichas leyes; y, el espíritu, que en este sentido es el hombre real revestido de lo material, controla y utiliza esa materia con mayor eficacia que cuando estaba en la tierra, atado a lo físico. Todo lo material del mundo espiritual es utilizado y formulado por los espíritus según su grado de inteligencia y desarrollo, conforme van surgiendo las ocasiones para tal uso; y dicho uso, o sus efectos, son comunicados o pueden serlo, al hombre, según lo admitan sus limitaciones.
Normalmente, la comprensión del hombre sobre los efectos del control del espíritu sobre lo material del mundo invisible está limitada por la capacidad de sus cinco sentidos, y como estos cinco sentidos fueron creados con el único propósito de permitir o ayudar al espíritu a manifestarse en relación con lo que pertenece a la naturaleza puramente física de la tierra, rara vez sucede que los hombres puedan percibir la materia invisible o los mecanismos de las leyes que la rigen.
Ahora bien, según lo que he dicho, este espíritu es simplemente la mente del hombre: la misma mente indivisible que posee cuando está en la tierra, pero que, debido a las limitaciones de los órganos físicos, no fue capaz de operar con respecto a la materia invisible, de modo que el hombre pudiera comprender ese funcionamiento y sus resultados.
Al morir, el hombre es a partir de entonces el mismo ser en todas sus facultades, deseos y pensamientos, y en su capacidad para usar la materia, que antes de morir, excepto que los órganos puramente físicos de su propio ser ya no le pertenecen, y en cuanto a ellos, está muerto. Pero por extraño que te parezca, puede controlar ─y a menudo lo hace─ los órganos físicos de otro ser humano, si éste se somete a ese control. Y si piensas por un momento, te darás cuenta de que no hay nada extraordinario en esto. La mente del espíritu sigue siendo la misma que antes de su partida del cuerpo, conservando todos sus poderes, pensamientos y consciencia, y si puede obtener un control de aquello que es necesario para manifestarse a la consciencia de los hombres, no habrá ninguna dificultad en hacerlo, ni nada inusual ni sobrenatural. Habiendo desaparecido sus propios órganos cerebrales y nerviosos, y los de los cinco sentidos, y estando el cerebro de todo ser mortal sujeto al control de su propia mente, mientras ésta reclame el uso o control exclusivo de estos órganos, aquella mente que esté privada de sus propios órganos físicos no podrá controlarlos, porque es una ley de la existencia que ninguna mente en su estado normal puede ser invadida por otra, y a menos que la mente, cuya sede y funcionamiento se encuentran dentro del cuerpo espiritual ─encerrado en el cuerpo físico que posee estos órganos─ consienta el control de dichos órganos por la otra mente, no puede usarlos. Pero ese tal poder está efectivamente en el espíritu o mente desencarnada; y lo único que falta es la oportunidad de ejercerlo.
Cuando el espíritu desea controlar la materia invisible, su único límite son su inteligencia y el conocimiento de la ley que rige dicho control, y su progreso en las esferas espirituales.

Estoy aquí, tu fiel y amorosa Helen.
Querido, me alegra que estés en condiciones de recibir de nuevo los mensajes de los espíritus que desean escribirte sobre temas espirituales.
El espíritu que te escribió estaba muy deseoso de hacerlo, y se lo permitimos para que pudieras comprender mejor qué es la materia del universo y el poder que los espíritus tienen sobre ella.
Pero esta no es la naturaleza de los mensajes que deseamos transmitirte, y no nos permitiremos que interfieran mucho en este aspecto. Hasta que todos nuestros mensajes sean entregados, no debes pensar en tales cosas.
El Maestro ha estado contigo hoy y está muy complacido con tu forma de pensar. Dice que pronto comenzarás a recibir de nuevo los mensajes superiores, y todos estamos deseosos de escribirte. Mantén tus oraciones al Padre y tus pensamientos sobre las cosas superiores del mundo espiritual.

Advice given by Jesus in attending church service. Jesus was present with Mr. Padgett. (29 Aug 1915)
I AM HERE, Jesus.
I was with you tonight and my spirit was in your heart to an extent that made you feel its presence, and caused you to suffer somewhat physically – but it was there to tell you that I was present and that my love was helping you to get nearer the Father and His Love.
I know that the people who were worshipping me were not doing what I approve of or like, but their hearts were turned to God; and while they were making me the object of their worship, yet the spirit of God was with them, and the workings of the Holy Spirit were in the hearts of very many of them showing them the Love of the Father and the truth of His salvation.
They, of course, are mistaken when they talk about being saved by my blood, for my blood has nothing to do with their salvation, but as they have been taught this, I cannot expect that they will know the real Salvation which the Father has provided for them. Sometime they will know that only the Divine Love of the Father saves from sin and error, and that not any blood of mine or death on the cross can save them.
But, notwithstanding this false belief, these people in their prayers actually aspire for the Love of God, and He knows the longings of their hearts and sends the Holy Ghost to fill them with this Divine Love which makes them become very close to the Father, and makes them happy.
So, while, as I say, I don’t like the worship of me, yet the truth of God’s Love enters into their souls and they become at-one with Him to the extent that such Love enters their souls.
I know that to you, with your enlightenment, it appears that they are making a great mistake in worshipping me and believing that my blood saves them, yet, you must understand that while they make such mistakes, yet they are receiving the Divine Love and that it is working to redeem them from their sins and evil lives. So let not this error in their belief make you think that I am not with them, or rather that the Christ spirit is not with them, teaching them the way to the Love of the Father and to the great happiness which that Love brings to them.
I know that the meeting did you great good and opened up your soul to the inflowing of this Love, and consequently, to a renewed faith and trust, and renewed love for the Father and belief in me.
Let this Love in you increase and pray to the Father for more faith in His promises, and for a greater inflowing of His Love, and very soon you will realize His actual presence in your soul to an extent that will make you know that you are one with Him in Love, and in the possession of the Divine Essence that will cause all doubt to leave you and give you a faith in which no doubt will appear.
I am glad you went to this meeting tonight and I hope you will go again, for the influences attending it were helpful to you, and were from above.
Soon I will write again as I desire, if you will only pray more and trust more.
You are thinking right and I will pray the Father for you, and if you will only persist in your desires and try to act in accordance with our prayers you will succeed; for the Father will hear your prayers and will help you to the fullest.
And in addition, I will be with you and help you with my power and love.
So do as I say, and above all have faith in the Father and trust me.
I will not write more tonight, but will say that I will be with you during the week and will help you in your spiritual efforts.

Francis Bacon on the continuity of life after death. (26 May 1919)
Let me write a few lines tonight upon a subject that has recently been discussed by a spiritualist, a preacher, a philosopher and a scientist, and that is the continuity of life after death of the physical body. Each of these writers approach the subject from a different viewpoint, but all arrive at the same conclusion based upon different means of argument, and that is, that life continues after death.
The subject is one in which mankind is vitally interested and is worthy of consideration by the greatest minds of investigation and research, and should be studied in the light of nature as well as in that of actual demonstration by the experiences of those who have by their experiences proved to mankind that the spirits of their departed friends and acquaintances and of others of more or less distinction when in the physical life, do actually live and communicate to men their existence and the possession of the mental faculties and thoughts that were theirs when mortals.
The proper study of man would demonstrate this fact, and logically doubt would cease to exist, but the difficulty is that men do not understand man or his creation and faculties and his relationship to things of life known as the material or matter. It is a common belief that matter that is now existent, or rather that what men see and know of the material is all that is knowable, and that when that which is merely physical, as commonly understood, ceases to exist no further or other knowledge of it can be obtained or understood by the finite mind of man.
But this accepted assumption is not true, and if man would only think for a moment of what matter or the material is, they would comprehend the possibilities of its workings and functionings, and also, of what use may be made of the same by the minds of the spirits operating upon it in the spiritual world; that is in the world beyond the comprehension of the five senses of men, which are only the means of the spirits working in the ordinary purview of the physical life.
Matter is eternal, and exists in all the spheres of the spirit world just as it does on earth, although in different forms and attenuations, and in conditions that may or may not be the objects of the physical senses, or of the senses of the mind which are superior to or exclusive of these mere physical senses. Matter is, in its essential nature, the same, notwithstanding the fact that it assumes different forms – some visible to the ordinary senses of men and some entirely outside of that view or sensation, and as to these senses wholly nonexistent, yet to these other senses of the mind just as real and tractable and subject to the influence of the workings of the mind, as the merely physical matter is to the five senses of men.
The world in which men live is composed of the material, and the world in which I live is also composed of the material, of the same nature, but of different consistencies and objective qualities. The material of the universe is always material, whether or not it be cognizable by man and subject to his thoughts and inventions and uses; and as man progresses in the study of the same – I mean the practical and experimental – he will discover that there are things of the material in nature which to him are being developed and made known, and which a few years before he had no conception of their existence. Such is the discovery and use of electricity, and the workings of the laws of nature which enables him to make possible the effects of wireless telegraphy. These discoveries and workings of forces of the unseen are nothing more or less than a certain kind of knowledge controlling the same as to his consciousness has become apparent. But in all these operations, matter is the thing made use of and not any spiritual power as commonly understood by men. So you see matter, whether in the grossly physical of earth or in the more attenuated and invisible of the spirit world, is that which is used to produce effects and is operated on by the mind, whether or not it be tangible and understandable or not.
The mind is an entity indivisible and united, and is not separable into the subjective and objective as men frequently teach, except in this: that in its workings, that part of the mind which controls the brain in the ordinary affairs of life may be called the objective, and that part which is suited for and used in controlling the material after it has been transformed into the purely invisible may be called the subjective. But it is all one mind and exists in man while on earth, just as it will and does when he becomes a spirit.
Man in his journey through life, and I mean when in the earth existence as well as in the eternal part of his existence, is always of the material, that is his soul has a material covering and appearance, and while this material covering changes in its appearance and quality as he progresses in the spheres, yet the gross physical of his earth life and the sublimated spiritual of the eternal part of his life, are both of the material – real, existing and tangible – and used for the purpose of their creation, namely: the protection and individualizing of the soul which they contain.
Now this being so, you can readily understand that man, when he gives up the coarser physical of the human body, does not cease to be of the material but becomes an inhabitant of the finer and purer material of what is called his spirit body; and this body is subject to the laws governing the material just as was his physical body subject to these laws; and the spirit, which in this sense is the real man clothed in the material, controls and uses that material more effectually than it did when on earth, bound in the physical. All the material of the spirit world is used and formulated by the spirits according to their degree of intelligence and development as the occasions for such uses may arise, and such use or the effects of the same are or can be made known to man according as his limitations admit.
Ordinarily, man’s understanding of the effects of the spirit’s control of the material of the invisible world is limited by the capacity of his five senses to comprehend, and as these five senses were created for the purpose only of permitting or helping the spirit to manifest itself with reference to those things which belong to the wholly physical of earth, it rarely happens that men can perceive the invisible material or the workings of the laws controlling the same.
Now in what I have said this spirit is merely the mind of man – the same indivisible mind that he possesses when on earth, but which because of the limitations of the physical organs he was not able to function as regards the invisible material, so that man could understand that functioning and its results.
Man when he dies is thereafter the same being in all his faculties, desires and thoughts and in his ability to use the material as he was before his death, except that the purely physical organs of his own being are no longer his, and as to them he is dead; but strange as it may seem to you he can and often does control the physical organs of another man who is living in the flesh, if that man will submit to that control. And when you think for a moment you will realize that there is nothing remarkable in this. The mind of the spirit remains just the same as it was before his departure from the body, having all its powers and thoughts and consciousness, and if it can obtain control of that which is necessary to manifest itself to the consciousness of men, there will be no difficulty in its doing so, and nothing unusual or supernatural. Its own organs of brain and nerves and the five senses having gone, and the brain of every other mortal being subject to the control of its own mind, so long as that mind claims the exclusive use or control of these organs, the mind deprived of its own physical organs cannot control, because it is a law of being that no mind in its normal state can be intruded upon by another mind, and unless the mind whose seat and functioning are within the spirit body which is enclosed in the physical body possessing these organs, consents to the control of such organs by the other mind, it cannot use such organs. But the power is in the disembodied spirit or mind; only the opportunity is wanting.
When the spirit desires to control the invisible material, it is limited only by its intelligence and knowledge of the law governing such control, and its progress in the spirit spheres.
Well, I have written enough for tonight, but will come again and amplify my message.

I AM HERE – your own true and loving Helen .
Well dear, I am glad that you are in condition to again receive the messages of the spirits who wish to write you in reference to things spiritual.
The spirit who wrote you was very anxious to do so, and we permitted him in order that you might gain some conception of what the material of the universe is, and the power that spirits have over such material.
But this is not the nature of the messages that we wish to convey to you, and we will not permit ourselves to be interfered with very often in this particular, and until our messages are all delivered you must not think of such things.
The Master has been with you today and is well pleased at your way of thinking, and says that you will soon commence to receive the higher messages again, and we are all anxious to write. Keep up your prayers to the Father and your thoughts about the higher things of the spirit world.
As you have been drawn on a great deal tonight I will not write further now, and will only say that we all love you and will be with you to help you in your thoughts. So love us and say good night.
