Permíteme escribir unas líneas, pues anhelo mucho declarar ciertos hechos que no eran ciertos para mi entendimiento y creencias cuando estaba en la tierra. Y, oh, qué lástima.
Hoy estuve presente en la iglesia donde el predicador comentó y criticó mis enseñanzas, y a mí también, y me veo impelida a admitir que algunas de sus críticas eran ciertas y justificadas.
Soy la sra. Eddy, fundadora de la secta que lleva el altisonante nombre de Ciencia Cristiana, y cuyas doctrinas no son ni cristianas ni científicas, como ahora sé por experiencia propia en el mundo espiritual, donde se ve demostrado que muchas de mis enseñanzas no concuerdan con la verdad y, por lo tanto, son engañosas.
Ahora me doy cuenta de que mi mente y mi alma no estaban en consonancia con la verdad mientras viví como mortal, y que mi mente fue el elemento determinante al hacerme albergar ciertas creencias que legué al mundo bajo la forma de las doctrinas contenidas en mi libro de texto y otros escritos.
Mi alma poseía un grado considerable de Amor Divino, tal como ese Amor te ha sido explicado; y cuando llegué al mundo espiritual, ese Amor fue mi salvación, a pesar de los errores de muchas de mis enseñanzas sobre la mente y la materia, y sobre la irrealidad del pecado y del mal [evil].

Jesús: Algunas de las doctrinas de la Ciencia Cristiana son falsas. Es muy importante que las verdades reveladas por el sr. Padgett se den a conocer, ya que implican la salvación y el bien de toda la humanidad (2 enero 1917)
Estoy aquí, Jesús.
Estuve presente mientras leías el artículo sobre la Ciencia Cristiana y me interesaron tus comentarios. Me complace asegurarte que tus anotaciones eran correctas, y que, en los detalles que criticaste, las afirmaciones del autor eran erróneas y no concordaban con las leyes espirituales de la verdad y su comprensión. En algún momento vendré y escribiré un mensaje algo extenso sobre las doctrinas de la Ciencia Cristiana, ya que considero muy importante corregir las afirmaciones de este culto [cult].
Las doctrinas que proclama al mundo contienen muchas verdades y son beneficiosas para la humanidad, y están haciendo mucho bien, tanto espiritual como físicamente. Sin embargo, algunas de estas afirmaciones violan tanto la verdad que no deben pasar como verdades sin ser rebatidas.
La fundadora de esta Ciencia, o descubrimiento ─tal como declaran que es sus escritos y seguidores─, se encuentra aquí ahora, y lamenta haber dejado al mundo tantos conceptos falsos y erróneos sobre la verdad, que tantas personas creen y enseñan. Ella es un espíritu de gran desarrollo álmico, y posee mucho del Amor Divino, cuyo significado no concibió con su mente carnal ─tal como ella la llamaba─ y, por lo tanto, no pudo enseñar qué es este Amor Divino, ni sus efectos sobre las almas de los hombres, ni el efecto de su presencia en ellas.
Ella nunca concibió un ideal más elevado para el hombre que el del hombre perfecto, aquel que debería liberarse por completo de los pecados y errores que todos los hombres tienen en mayor o menor medida. Y sus enseñanzas de que el pecado, el error y la enfermedad no son realidades, porque Dios no los creó, son completamente erróneas, pues tienen una realidad que no sólo hace infelices a los hombres y les causa sufrimiento en la vida mortal, sino que también impide su progreso hacia su [de ella] ideal del hombre perfecto en el mundo espiritual. Dios es solamente bueno, y todo lo que Él creó es necesariamente bueno, y no puede contener lo que es malo [evil] o está en conflicto con Sus creaciones; pero, tal como te hemos explicado, si bien creó al hombre perfecto ─que sólo conoce el bien─, no obstante le otorgó el gran poder del libre albedrío, y, tras su desobediencia, lo ejerció de tal manera que violó las leyes de su ser, resultando en el pecado y el error; esto convirtió al hombre en el creador del mal [evil].
La sra. Eddy te escribirá muy pronto sobre su Ciencia, pues está muy deseosa de remediar los errores que enseñó, y hemos decidido que es aconsejable que lo haga, tanto por sus seguidores como por ella misma, pues su trabajo aquí, y en la medida de lo posible en el mundo mortal, consiste en desenseñar, por así decirlo, los errores que enseñó.
Esperaba escribir mi mensaje, o mejor dicho, terminar el mensaje que escribí parcialmente hace unas noches, pero no estás en condiciones de recibirlo, y prefiero esperar hasta que te sientas mejor al respecto.
Me alegra que estés tan interesado en ese mensaje, y cuando lo recibas, no creo que te sientas decepcionado, pues, como dices, el tema es aquella verdad fundamental que debe darse a conocer a los mortales. Lo abordaré en todos sus aspectos, y debes procurar estar en las mejores condiciones posibles para recibirlo.
Bueno, no creo que eso sea necesario, pues habrá tales poderes presentes, que la presencia de cualquier mortal y las influencias favorables que pueda atraer no te serán de ninguna ayuda. Debes saber que tengo un poder mayor que el de cualquier otro espíritu, y que, cuando acudo a ti, no necesitas la ayuda de ningún otro espíritu. Si tan solo logras que tu alma esté en la mejor condición posible de modo que yo pueda establecer una conexión adecuada, no será necesario nada más.
No escribiré más esta noche. Te quiero mucho y estoy contigo con frecuencia, infundiéndote mi amor e influencia, y tratando de ayudarte a desarrollar la condición de tu alma y a alcanzar una mayor unidad [at-onement] con el Padre.
Sí, he cumplido mis promesas, y cuando me llamas para que te acompañe en la oración, vengo y elevo mis fervientes súplicas por ti, y sé que el Padre responde a mis oraciones, no sólo por la fe que tengo, sino porque puedo ver el efecto en la condición de tu alma.
Bueno, no debes pensar que soy Dios, ni uno de la Deidad [Godhead], pues, como te he dicho, soy sólo Su hijo, y poseo tanto de Su Divino Amor que estoy muy próximo a Él y tengo comunión con Él. Mi hogar está en el Cielo Más Alto, donde el espíritu humano aún no ha llegado; mas, sin embargo, no soy de una condición tan exaltada ni estoy en tal posición que no me acerque a ti con amor y empatía, como tu hermano mayor. En mi exaltación, soy sumamente humilde, y he de decirte que la humildad es un acompañamiento, seguro y eterno, de un gran desarrollo espiritual y álmico.
Y como soy el más elevado de los hijos del Padre, no debes dudar de que vengo a ti, te transmito mis mensajes, oro por ti y te derramo mi amor e influencia.
Te he explicado la gran razón por la que hago esto, y esta razón implica la salvación y el bien de toda la humanidad, y de ti. Te diré ahora que estás involucrado como colaborador, conmigo y con los espíritus que te escriben, en la mayor obra que cualquier espíritu u hombre pueda emprender. Y quiero añadir que la cumplirás, y con éxito; y cuando llegue el momento de abandonarla y venir al mundo espiritual, tu recompensa será inconcebible y tu felicidad completa.
Veo que en tu mente tienes el pensamiento de cuál será el futuro de tus dos amigos (Nota: el sr. Eugene Morgan y el dr. L. R. Stone). Pues bien, ellos realizarán su labor, una obra grande e importante que les brindará una recompensa similar a la que aguarda para ti; y esta recompensa no es el resultado de ninguna dispensación especial del Padre, sino del trabajo, las asociaciones y la experiencia que todos adquiriréis al realizar y completar las tareas que tenéis por delante.
Tú, y también ellos, estáis realizando ahora una labor que os tiene reservadas recompensas en el mundo espiritual cuando lleguéis a él, y no solo a él, sino que ahora estáis experimentando algunos de los beneficios que se derivan de vuestro trabajo. Continuad con vuestros esfuerzos por mostrar a espíritus y mortales el camino hacia el Amor del Padre y mi reino, y encontraréis una maravillosa felicidad refleja [reflex], que os llegará mientras aún sois mortales.
Si vosotros, los hombres, pudierais comprender el amor y las influencias espirituales, y la cantidad de espíritus altamente desarrollados que os acompañan tan a menudo, y los esfuerzos que éstos hacen por ayudaros y brindaros felicidad, sentiríais que sois los verdaderamente bendecidos por el Padre.

Oh, querido, cuánto me alegra que el Maestro te haya escrito como lo hizo, y si tan solo hubieras podido verlo mientras te hablaba de su amor por ti y de la gran felicidad que experimentarás cuando hayas terminado tu obra, te habrías sentido entusiasmado y muy feliz. Parecía estar lleno de amor y gloria, y muy deseoso de que comprendieras plenamente lo que te escribió.

La experiencia de los espíritus al entrar en el mundo espiritual y su progreso – John B. Comeys (22 diciembre 1915)
Deseo escribirte brevemente para informarte sobre ciertas verdades que debes conocer en relación a la vida espiritual y a lo que los mortales que llevan vidas de hombres buenos y puros pueden esperar y estar seguros de alcanzar.
Estoy en las Esferas Celestiales, pero no hablaré de éstas, sino solo de las espirituales, donde los hombres, después de convertirse en espíritus desencarnados, pueden vivir y experimentar una felicidad de la cual, en la tierra, no se hacen ninguna concepción.
Cuando un espíritu entra por primera vez al mundo espiritual, recibe la bienvenida de uno o más espíritus, cuyos deberes [duties] son recibirlo y mostrarle el lugar donde le corresponde vivir o existir.
A dicho espíritu se le permite entonces reunirse con sus amigos y parientes y estar en contacto con ellos por un tiempo breve o prolongado, así como recibir el consuelo que puedan brindarle; y en muchos casos, la alegría y la felicidad de estos amigos espirituales le hacen creer que está en el cielo, o al menos en un lugar de gran felicidad.
Pero después de este primer encuentro, el espíritu debe ir, por la ley de la atracción, a aquel lugar donde su condición álmica o su condición de crecimiento moral o desarrollo intelectual lo hagan apto para estar, y debe permanecer allí hasta que dicha condición mejore y le habilite para ascender a un lugar superior.
Una vez que llega al lugar adecuado para que viva en él, ningún espíritu retrocede jamás, aunque puede que permanezca inmóvil [still] durante muchos años y no haga ningún progreso. Mas esta es una verdad desconocida para muchos mortales, y también para muchos espíritus: que la condición del mortal al convertirse en espíritu determina su condición y lugar de vida cuando entra por primera vez en el mundo espiritual. Tras ser colocado en tal lugar por la ley de atracción, tal como he mencionado, y una vez encontrado y ocupado ese lugar, el espíritu nunca desciende a uno inferior, sino que permanece allí durante mucho tiempo, o bien progresa ─y, al final, progresará de todos modos─.
Pues bien, los espíritus malignos encuentran estos lugares de habitación en los planos terrenales, que son numerosos y de diversos tipos, con muchas apariencias diferentes, adaptadas a las condiciones de los espíritus que los ocupan.
De un espíritu que se encuentra en el más bajo de estos planos terrenales se dice que está en los infiernos más bajos, ya que todos los espíritus que se encuentran en estos planos, donde sufren y se encuentran con la oscuridad, creen y dicen estar en el infierno. Pero este es sólo un nombre usado por conveniencia, pues los infiernos son meramente lugares que forman parte del gran universo de Dios.
Estos infiernos, como puedes imaginar, son muy numerosos, pues las condiciones de los espíritus son muy variadas, y cada espíritu tiene un lugar donde vivir, adaptado a su condición.
A medida que el espíritu se libera de algunas de estas condiciones ─lo cual, en consecuencia, activa la ley de atracción─, progresa a un lugar superior y mejor, y descubre que su entorno no es tan oscuro ni doloroso. Y a medida que esta progresión continúa, dicho espíritu finalmente se encontrará en planos de luz y relativa felicidad, donde los malos recuerdos lo habrán abandonado en gran medida, y donde entonces le llegan aquellas buenas acciones que realizó en la tierra, para causarle una felicidad que le lleva a constatar que no era totalmente malo, y que Dios ha sido bueno con él al aliviarlo de los pecados y malos pensamientos que lo ataban al lugar desde el que ha progresado.
Mas, después de todo esto, no ha alcanzado ninguna de las esferas superiores a los planos terrestres, y puede que tenga que permanecer en ellos durante muchos años antes de entrar en la segunda esfera, que es la siguiente en gradación al plano terrestre. Este último plano es el más poblado de todas las esferas, pues recibe espíritus en gran número ─en mayor número que los que están progresando desde él hacia esferas superiores─. Por lo tanto, posee una mayor variedad de subplanos que cualquiera de las demás esferas, y está lleno de una mayor variedad y tipos de espíritus que cualquiera de dichas esferas superiores.
Cuando un espíritu ha permanecido en los planos terrestres el tiempo suficiente como para estar en condiciones de ir a la siguiente esfera superior, realiza tal progreso, y sin que nada se lo impida. No quiero decir con esto que el espíritu esté obligado a permanecer en los planos terrestres un número determinado de años antes de progresar, pues esto no es cierto; al contrario, la cantidad de años que permanece allí viene determinada por su condición de progreso, de modo que algunos espíritus pueden atravesar estos planos en menos de un año, y otros pueden permanecer allí por muchos años.
En la segunda esfera, las apariencias son más brillantes y se le brindan al espíritu muchas oportunidades para buscar y obtener la felicidad que antes no tenía. Muchos espíritus encuentran gran felicidad en sus estudios intelectuales y en cosas de este tipo, así como en el conocimiento de las leyes del mundo espiritual que rigen lo que podríamos llamar la naturaleza material de este mundo, así como del mundo terrenal.
Esta esfera no es muy adecuada para el desarrollo de las facultades del alma, y aquellos espíritus cuyos deseos y aspiraciones son el desarrollo de sus cualidades álmicas no permanecen en este mundo o esfera por mucho tiempo, pues no encuentran las provisiones que son necesarias para dicho desarrollo. En consecuencia, progresan a la tercera esfera, donde encuentran oportunidades y entornos maravillosos que les permiten progresar en estos asuntos del alma.
Bueno, veo que estás cansado, y pospondré cualquier escrito adicional sobre estos temas para otra ocasión.

Let me write a few lines, as I am anxious to declare some facts, which when on earth were not facts to my understanding and beliefs. And oh, the pity of it all.
Today, I was present at the church where the preacher discussed and criticized my teachings and me also and I am compelled to admit that some of his criticisms were true and justified.
I am Mrs. Eddy, and the founder of the sect which bears the high sounding name of Christian Science, and the doctrines of which are neither Christian nor science as I now know from actual experience in the spirit world, where many of my teachings are shown to be not in accord with truth, and so misleading.
I now realize that my mind and soul were not in accord as regards the truth, while I lived a mortal, and that my mind was superior in causing me to have certain beliefs which I left to the world in the form of doctrines contained in my text book and my other writings.
My soul possessed a considerable degree of the Divine Love, as that Love has been explained to you, and when I came to the spirit world that Love was my salvation, notwithstanding the errors of many of my teachings as to mind and matter, and non reality of sin and evil.
I am too weak to write more, but I will soon come for I must declare the truths.

Jesus – Some of the doctrines of Christian Science are untrue. Very important that the truths being revealed through Mr. Padgett be made known as it involves the salvation and good of all mankind. (2 Jan 1917)
I AM HERE, Jesus.
I have been present as you read the article on Christian Science and was interested in your comments, and am pleased to assure you that your annotations were correct, and that in the particulars that you criticized the statements of the writer the same were erroneous and not in accord with the spiritual laws of truth and the understanding thereof. Sometime I will come and write you a message at some length on the doctrines of Christian Science, for the reason that I think a correction of the claims of this cult is very important.
The doctrines that it proclaims to the world contain many truths and are beneficial to mankind, and are doing much good, both spiritually and physically, but some of the claims are so much in violation of the truth that they must not be permitted to pass as truths uncontradicted.
The founder of this Science or discovery, as her writings and followers claim, is here now, and deplores the fact that she left to the world so many false and misconceived concepts of the truth that so many persons believe and teach. She is a spirit of much soul development, and is in possession of much of the Divine Love, which she did not conceive the meaning of by her carnal mind, as she called it, and was not therefore able to teach what this Divine Love is, and its operations upon the souls of men, and the effect of its presence in such souls.
She never conceived any higher ideal for man than the perfect man,one who should become wholly delivered from the sins and errors which all men have to a more or less extent. And her teachings that sin and error and disease are not things of reality, because God did not create them, are all wrong, for they have a reality that not only makes men unhappy and causes them suffering in the mortal life, but also prevents their progress towards her ideal of the perfect man in the spirit world. God only is good, and everything that He created is necessarily good, and cannot contain that which is evil or in conflict with His creations; but, as we have explained to you, while He created man perfect, knowing only good, yet He bestowed upon him that great power of free will, and after his disobedience, he exercised it in such a way that he violated the laws of his being, and sin and error resulted – this made man the creator of evil.
Mrs. Eddy will write you very soon on the subject of her Science, as she is very anxious to remedy the errors that she taught, and we have determined that it is advisable that she do so, on account both of her followers and her own account, for her work here and so far as possible in the mortal world, is to unteach, as it were, the errors that she taught.
I expected to write my message, or rather finish the message which I partly wrote a few nights ago, but you are not just in condition to receive it, and I prefer waiting until you feel better in this respect.
I am glad that you are so much interested in that message, and when you receive it, I don’t think that you will be disappointed, for as you say, the subject is the one fundamental truth to be made known to mortals. I will deal with it in all its phases, and you must try to get in the best possible condition to receive it.
Well, I do not think that that will be necessary for there will be such powers present, that the presence of any mortal and the favorable influences that he may attract will not afford any assistance to you. You must know that I have greater power than all the other spirits have, and when I come to you the assistance of the powers of any other spirit is not needed. If you will only get your soul in the best condition possible, so that I can make the proper rapport, nothing else will be needed.
I will not write more tonight. I love you very much and am with you quite frequently, throwing around you my love and influence, and trying to help you develop your soul condition and become in greater at-onement with the Father.
Yes, I have kept my promises, and when you call for me to come with you and pray, I come, and send up my earnest supplications in your behalf, and I know that the Father answers my prayers, not only because of the faith that I have, but because I can see the effect in your soul’s condition.
Well, you must not think that I am God or one of the Godhead, for as I have told you, I am only His son, and the possessor of so much of His Divine Love that I get very close to Him, and have communion. I have my home in the Highest Heaven, that the spirit of man has not yet so far reached, but, notwithstanding, I am not of so exalted a condition, or in such position, that I do not come to you in love and sympathy and as your elder brother. In my exaltation, I am most humble, and I must tell you that humility is a certain and eternal accompaniment of great spiritual and soul development.
And because I am the highest of the Father’s sons, you must not doubt that I come to you, and deliver my messages and pray for you and throw around you my love and influence.
I have explained to you the great reason why I am doing this, and this reason is one that involves the salvation and good of all mankind, and you. I will tell you now that you are engaged and made a co-worker with me, and the spirits who write you, in the greatest work that any spirit or man can engage in. And I want further to say, that you will accomplish the work, and successfully; and when the time comes for you to lay down this work and come to the spirit world, your reward will be beyond all conception, and your happiness will be complete.
I see that you have in your mind the thought as to what will be the future of your two friends (Note: Mr. Eugene Morgan and Dr. L. R. Stone). Well, they will perform their work and it will be a great and important work, that will bring them a reward similar to the one that is in store for you; and this reward is not the result of any special dispensation of the Father, but is the result of the work and the associations and experience that you all will have in doing and completing the tasks that are before you.
You, and they too, are now doing a work which is laying up rewards in the spirit world for you when you come over, and not only there but you are now experiencing some of the benefits that flow from your work. Continue in the efforts that you are making to show spirits and mortals the way to the Father’s Love and my kingdom, and you will find a wonderful reflex happiness come to you while you are yet mortals.
If you men could realize the love and spiritual influences, and the number of highly developed spirits that are with you so often, and the efforts the latter make to help you and bring happiness to you, you would feel that you are the truly blessed of the Father.

Oh, my dear, how glad I am that the Master wrote to you as he did, and if you only could have seen him as he told you of his love for you and the great happiness that will be yours when you shall have finished your work, you would have been thrilled as well as very happy. He seemed to be full of love and glory, and so anxious that you should fully comprehend what he wrote you.

Spirits’ experience when entering the spirit world and their progress – John B. Comeys. (22 Dec 1915)
I desire to write you a short time to inform you of certain truths which you should know pertaining to the spirit life, and to what mortals who lead the lives of good and pure men may expect and be assured of realizing.
I am in the Celestial Spheres, but I shall not speak of these spheres, but only of the spiritual spheres, where men after they become disembodied spirits may live and experience a happiness which they on earth have no conception of.
When a spirit first enters the spirit world it receives a welcome from some one or more spirits whose duties are to receive such spirit, and to show the place where it is suited to live or exist.
Such spirit is then permitted to meet its friends and relatives and to commune with them for a short or long time and receive whatever consolation such friends or relatives may be able to give it; and in many cases the gladness and happiness of these spirit friends cause the spirit to believe that it is in heaven, or at least, in a place of great happiness.
But after this first interview, the spirit must, by reason of the law of attraction, go to the place where its condition of soul or its condition of moral growth or intellectual development fits it for, and there remain until such condition is made better and enables it to rise to a higher place.
No spirit, after it once gets into the place that is suited for it to live in, ever retrogrades, although it may stand still for a long number of years, and never make any progress. But this is a truth not known to a great many mortals, and spirits also, that the condition of the mortal at the time he becomes a spirit fixes his condition and place of living when he first enters the spirit world; after he is put in such place by the law of attraction as I have said, and when once that place is found and occupied, the spirit never goes to a lower place; but either will stay in that place for a long time, or will progress – and ultimately will in all cases progress.
Well, the evil spirits find these places of habitation in the earth planes, which are many, and of varied kinds, having many different appearances, suited to the conditions of the spirits who will occupy them.
A spirit who is in the lowest of these earth planes is said to be in the lowest hells, as all spirits who are in these planes where they suffer and encounter darkness believe and say they are in hell. But this is merely a name used for convenience, for the hells are merely places forming a part of the one great universe of God.
These hells, as you may imagine, are very numerous, for the conditions of spirits are very varied, and each spirit has a place in which to live fitted to its condition.
As the spirit becomes freed from some of these conditions, which as to them causes the law of attraction to work, he progresses to a higher and better place, and finds that his surroundings are not so dark and painful. And as this progression continues, such spirit will ultimately find himself in the planes of light and comparative happiness, where the evil recollections have to a large extent left him, and the good deeds which he did on earth then come to him and cause a happiness that makes him realize that he was not all bad, and that God has been good to him in relieving him from the sins and evil thoughts which bound him to the place from which he has progressed.
But after all this, he has not gotten into any of the spheres which are above the earth planes, and he may have to remain there for a great many years before he enters the second sphere which is next in gradation to the earth plane. This latter plane is the most populous of all the spheres, for it has spirits coming to it in great numbers – in greater numbers than are progressing from it to higher spheres, and hence it has a greater variety of sub-planes than has any of the other spheres, and is filled with a greater variety and kind of spirits than are any of these higher spheres.
When a spirit has remained in the earth planes a sufficient length of time to put him in condition to go to the next higher sphere, he makes his progress, and is never prevented from doing so. I do not mean to say that the spirit is compelled to remain in the earth planes any particular number of years before progressing, for this is not true; on the contrary the number of years that he remains there is determined by his condition of progress, so that some spirits may go through these planes in less than a year and others may remain there many years.
In the second sphere, appearances are brighter and many opportunities are afforded the spirit to seek for and obtain happiness that he did not have before, and many spirits find great happiness in pursuing their intellectual studies and things of this kind, and in obtaining a knowledge of the laws of the spirit world governing what you might call the material nature of this world and also of the earth world.
This sphere is not so well suited for the growth of the soul faculties, and those spirits whose desires and aspirations are for the development of their soul qualities do not stay in this world or sphere very long, for they do not find that the necessary provisions for such development exists, and as a consequence, they progress to the third sphere, where they find wonderful opportunities and surroundings, which enables them to progress in these matters of the soul.
