Introducción

La lectura de estos mensajes dura en el audio hasta el minuto 19:59, y luego hay comentarios.
Esta vez vemos los siguientes cinco mensajes, que son de Jesús, Juan y Helen.
Esta vez, Jesús ha hablado del célebre profeta Samuel, y eso nos dio pie a comentar largamente ─en la parte de comentarios─ sobre el problema de mezclar «política» y religión o espiritualidad (esto, por otra parte, no es lo más importante de estos cinco relevantes mensajes, pero sí tiene su relevancia).
Es decir, al principio de la parte de comentarios trato de un tema que vimos hace poco en un texto, a modo de esbozo o de invitación: el asunto y las aventuras de las mezclas y confusiones entre lo político y lo religioso/espiritual.
En dicho texto uso ciertas observaciones básicas sobre la importancia de la «moralidad» («costumbres») y sus aventuras sociopolíticas, digamos, a la manera de Tocqueville (el título del texto, del que quizá haga audio, es: «El drama hispanoamericano: ¿Inseparación Iglesia/Estado? Nos introducimos a la historia mejicana…«).

Forma parte de un libro que es el segundo volumen de una recopilación concreta de los mensajes recibidos a principios del siglo XX por James E. Padgett de parte de varios desencarnados, entre otros, de Jesús de Nazaret.

Jesús – La consecuencia de recibir el Amor Divino, en cuanto a la eliminación de la preocupación. La oración es una ayuda maravillosa cuando se ofrece con unos verdaderos anhelos del alma y siempre encuentra respuesta (9 julio 1917)
Estoy aquí, Jesús.
Bien, hermano mío, veo que estás mucho mejor que en los últimos días, y que has orado más al Padre para que Su Amor afluya, y como consecuencia, tienes más en tu alma y te encuentras en mejor estado espiritual y físico.
Esta noche me gustaría terminar mi mensaje sobre Dios, pero no creo que estés precisamente en las condiciones necesarias para recibirlo, y creo que es conveniente posponerlo un poco más.
Sin duda, con toda seguridad debes sentir el efecto de la oración más que nunca, porque te habrías encontrado en un gran desaliento si no hubieras orado como lo has hecho estos últimos días, ya que la misma causa de tu desánimo persiste todavía, al igual que hace unos días, cuando te sentías tan deprimido y preocupado. La oración es una ayuda maravillosa cuando se ofrece con verdaderos anhelos del alma; siempre encuentra respuesta, y el beneficio no será solo espiritual, sino también material.
Por supuesto, la oración no elimina la causa de la preocupación, liberando al mortal de dicha preocupación. Sin embargo, sí actúa sobre la consciencia mortal de la persona de tal manera que elimina el efecto de esta preocupación en sus sentimientos y estado mental. De esta forma, el mortal se ve beneficiado y sus oraciones son respondidas. Se convierte, por así decirlo, en un nuevo hombre y deja de ver estas causas de la misma manera que antes de que las oraciones comenzaran a dar sus frutos. Y él, en su verdadero ser, es un hombre diferente del que era cuando estaba en la condición que tenía antes de orar.
Me alegra mucho que hayas orado, que hayas elevado tus anhelos al Padre y hayas tenido fe en nosotros para ayudarte. Te estamos ayudando, y pronto verás el resultado de nuestro trabajo en cuanto a asegurar aquello que deseas y consideras necesario para liberarte de tus preocupaciones y llevar a cabo nuestra labor. Sigue orando y teniendo fe en nosotros, y no te decepcionarás en cuanto a lo que te prometemos, pues se va a ver cumplido en un tiempo muy breve.
Tengo todavía muchos mensajes por escribir, y así, deseo que estés en condiciones de recibirlos adecuadamente; y, además de mí, hay muchos otros espíritus que desean escribir sobre estas verdades, que son tan importantes que el mundo las debería conocer. Así pues, si continúas por la senda que tomaste hoy, experimentarás una maravillosa mejoría en la condición de tu alma y en las cualidades mentales y espirituales, y podremos establecer la vinculación necesaria para comunicarnos correctamente.
No voy a escribir más esta noche. Aunque, para terminar, te aconsejo que sigas orando con todos los anhelos de tu alma, y que creas, con toda la fuerza de tu mente; entonces desarrollarás en un grado sorprendente tus cualidades y percepciones álmicas, así como tu condición física y fortaleza mental. Te deseo buenas noches.

Comentarios de Helen sobre la oración para eliminar la preocupación (9 julio 1917)
Aquí estoy, tu fiel y amorosa Helen.
Sí, soy Helen, y te escribiré solo unas líneas, ya que veo que te sientes mucho mejor física y espiritualmente, y creo que lo mejor es que esta noche te acuestes temprano.
Me alegra mucho que ya no te sientas tan preocupado como antes, y también que comprendas que la oración ayuda mucho a librarse de las preocupaciones, aunque no elimine su causa directa; sin embargo, al recibir la ayuda, te fortaleces y estás mejor preparado para afrontar las causas y superarlas.
Entonces, mi querido Ned, sigue orando, trata de tener fe en nosotros, y verás maravillosamente la respuesta a tus oraciones, el cumplimiento de tus esperanzas y la liberación de las causas de tu preocupación.

Juan – Por qué los hombres deben aprender que no se les ha de dejar a su suerte en su concepción del significado de la vida, y la importancia de ésta en la economía de la creación y el destino del hombre (2 julio 1916)
Estoy aquí, Juan.
Vengo esta noche a revelarte una verdad que es importante que conozcas, tanto tú como todo el mundo. No escribiré un mensaje muy largo, pero lo que diga será la verdad, y cada hombre debería comprenderla y apropiársela.
No escribiré de ningún tema sobre el que se te haya instruido antes, sino que abordaré algo completamente nuevo: «Por qué los hombres deben aprender que no se les ha de dejar a su suerte en su concepción del significado de la vida, y la importancia de ésta en la economía de la creación y el destino del hombre». Sé que esto te puede parecer un tema extraño, pero debería interesar a todos los hombres que reconocen que la vida terrenal es muy breve, y que luego la eternidad los acoge en su abrazo, impidiéndoles volver a ser criaturas del tiempo.
Según el materialista, el hombre vive, muere y no vuelve a vivir, y es como un tosco animal sin futuro alguno. Pero el espiritualista ─es decir, quien cree que para el hombre hay algo más que lo meramente material─ cree que vive y nunca deja de vivir, aunque el cuerpo físico muera para no resucitar jamás como tal cuerpo.
Ahora bien, al adoptar una u otra de estas perspectivas, el significado de la vida del hombre en la tierra adquiere un aspecto muy diferente, y exige pensamientos y acciones muy distintos por su parte a la hora de vivir su vida. Desde luego, si eso que llaman muerte es el fin de todas las cosas, el hombre debería actuar ─o pensar que debería hacerlo─ según el viejo dicho: «Come, bebe y alégrate, que mañana morirás», pues con esa muerte llegan el olvido y la nada, para no despertar jamás de nuevo a la consciencia. Su misión en el universo se ha cumplido, y ya no puede experimentar esas esperanzas, ambiciones, alegrías y tristezas que le acompañaron en la vida.
Pero, por otro lado, si el hombre nunca deja de vivir, entonces sus pensamientos y conducta deberían orientarse hacia la consecución de aquello que le proporcione el mejor futuro posible.
Sean de una u otra opinión, todos reconocen que, al llegar la muerte, el cuerpo físico ya no puede ser utilizado. Entonces, quienes creen en una existencia continua reconocen que, al perecer el cuerpo físico, el ser humano ha de poseer otra forma o cuerpo en el que pueda alojarse la consciencia de tal existencia continua, y que ese cuerpo ha de ser tan real como el que abandona. Siendo así, el hombre que sabe que la muerte no es el final de todo, buscará comprender, natural y necesariamente, cómo es ese cuerpo de la existencia continuada, y qué se necesita para poder obtenerlo y, así, disfrutar de la vida en la eternidad. En esta búsqueda, no se conformará con saber que ese cuerpo es simplemente el cuerpo espiritual que lo ha acompañado durante toda su vida terrenal, sino que deseará comprender mejor la relación entre ese cuerpo y la forma de vivir su vida en la tierra.
Sé que, por sí mismo, el hombre no puede descubrir esta relación en absoluto, y que debe contar con las enseñanzas y experiencias de quienes han experimentado la separación del espíritu si es que quiere comprender algo de dicha relación.
Como alguien que ha tenido esta experiencia, deseo decir que el cuerpo espiritual es, en sí mismo, una creación, al igual que el cuerpo físico; y existe únicamente para preservar la individualidad del hombre y para contener y proteger su alma, tanto en la tierra como después de que se convierta en espíritu.
Entonces, su vida significa que ha sido puesto en la tierra para simplemente adquirir una individualidad, y para aprender que en su interior reside el alma, que es su verdadero ser, y la cual debe cuidar, educar y nutrir con los pensamientos superiores y la bondad de su creación original, sin descuidar las oportunidades que se le presenten para este desarrollo.
Sé que esto te parece incoherente, sin un propósito específico a la vista; pero te equivocas al pensar así, pues el propósito pronto se verá. Sin embargo, como no te encuentras en condiciones de escribir más esta noche, pospondré mi escrito para más tarde. Confiando en que no te sentirás inclinado a rechazar el mensaje, te deseo buenas noches.

Jesús: La Verdad Divina debe ser proclamada a toda la humanidad (2 mayo 1920)
Aquí estoy, Jesús.
Te escribo porque anhelo decirte que te encuentras en una condición mucho mejor que en mucho tiempo, y tus pensamientos de hoy, y especialmente de esta noche, te han puesto en un estado espiritual. Si continúas con estos pensamientos y anhelos, pronto nos habilitarás para establecer la vinculación necesaria para continuar dando nuestros mensajes con mayor frecuencia, y con la expresión precisa de lo que deseamos transmitir.
Hoy he pasado mucho tiempo contigo y he tratado de influir en tu alma y tu mente de tal modo que comprendas mejor la responsabilidad que recae sobre ti, y la importancia del trabajo que has de realizar. Estuve contigo en la iglesia esta mañana y vi la impresión que el predicador hizo en tu mente cuando preguntó si alguien tenía algo que ofrecer para demostrarle que no había captado del todo la verdad sobre las cosas espirituales, como él las llamaba, que impulsan a los hombres a aspirar por ─y conseguir tener─ una vida más elevada. También vi que comprendiste que tu trabajo, si se llevara a buen término, respondería a esa pregunta. Por lo tanto, debes reflexionar sobre esta cuestión y esforzarte con todas las capacidades que se te han dado para aprender estas verdades, para que puedan darse a conocer, no solo a los predicadores de las llamadas iglesias cristianas, sino a toda la humanidad. Ya posees verdades suficientes para demostrarle a este ministro que no está predicando la verdadera espiritualidad cristiana que vine a enseñar al mundo, y que de hecho enseñé; y que él no debe conformarse con su conocimiento de las cosas espirituales, sino que debe buscar más luz y verdad, hacerlas suyas y enseñarlas al mundo, especialmente a aquellos a quienes tiene la oportunidad de ministrar.
Me complace mucho que te encuentres en una condición de alma tan superior, y deseo que persistas en tus esfuerzos por obtener más del Amor del Padre; así, podrás llevar la verdadera iluminación a un mundo indiferente e ignorante de las verdades que son tan vitales para su salvación.
También estuve contigo esta noche y vi la impresión que te hizo el predicador al presentar a Samuel, tal como era entonces, como un ejemplo a seguir por los verdaderos buscadores de las cosas importantes que conducen a la regeneración espiritual y a la perfección de la humanidad. Y me alegró que pudieras apreciar hasta qué punto el carácter de Samuel distaba mucho del necesario para que un hombre sea el Ángel Divino, o siquiera el hombre perfecto. El predicador no experimenta la verdad del Amor Divino en su alma, y de hecho ni siquiera tiene conocimiento intelectual de su existencia y su funcionamiento. Cree que yo soy Dios y que mi sangre lava los pecados de todos los hombres que creen en mí; y, pensando así, se conforma con descansar en la promesa de los Evangelios, que acepta como mis verdaderas enseñanzas.
Samuel está ahora aquí, estuvo contigo en la iglesia, y comprendió cuán desprovisto se hallaba ─en la época mencionada por el predicador─ de aquello que era indispensable para su salvación. Reconoce también su exigencia al pueblo de que lo examinaran, y luego presentaran cualquier acusación de falta de rectitud que pudieran albergar contra él o contra su proceder como siervo y profeta de Jehová (sic). Este es un relato muy hermoso que, hasta cierto punto, encierra una enseñanza de las leyes morales que obra para el bien; sin embargo, no posee más trascendencia que otros tantos pasajes contenidos en el Antiguo Testamento. Samuel vendrá en su momento para escribirte sobre su vida en la tierra y su ministerio como siervo de Jehová. (Nota: Ver mensaje de Samuel, en el vol. I).
Bueno, mi querido hermano, no escribiré más esta noche, pero pronto volveré y te daré un mensaje importante que sé que no solo te beneficiará, sino que también te interesará.
Bien, escribiré sobre el tema que sugieres, pues es importante que los hombres lo conozcan, ya que muchos creen estar haciendo la voluntad de Dios con sus diversas formas de vida y en sus diversas formas de adoración. Su voluntad es tal que está en consonancia con todas las leyes que afectan al hombre en todos los sentidos, y los hombres deben conocer cuál es esta voluntad.
Pronto volveré y te escribiré sobre este tema, con la esperanza de que puedas recibir mi mensaje tal como pretendo transmitirlo. Con mi amor y bendición, y la seguridad de que estaré contigo en todo momento de necesidad, tratando de guiarte en tus pensamientos, te deseo buenas noches.

Aquí estoy, tu fiel y amorosa Helen.
Querido, me alegra mucho que estés en tan buenas condiciones para recibir los mensajes, que hayas vuelto a sentir la presencia del Amor en tu alma y que hayas dirigido tus anhelos y deseos al Padre para que aumente Su Amor.
No te imaginas lo mucho que me he preocupado por ti y cuánto le he rogado al Padre que derrame Su Espíritu Santo sobre ti y te llame de nuevo a la obra que has de realizar. Qué diferente eres cuando estás en estado de amor de cuando eres indiferente, frío y estás encerrado, por así decirlo, en tus pensamientos sobre lo material. Si tan solo pudieras apreciar todo lo que conlleva estar en este estado de indiferencia, intentarías con todas las fuerzas de tu alma y tu mente no permitir jamás que te domine. No hay nada en todo el universo que pueda en absoluto compensar la pérdida de este sentimiento de poseer el Amor activo en tu alma, y debes comprender esto.
Me alegra mucho que el Maestro te haya escrito de esta manera, y espero que recuerdes sus palabras y te unas a él y a la obra que te ha encomendado. Sé fiel a él y a ti mismo, y alcanzarás una condición de voluntad que te hará ─y te mantendrá en un estado─ muy feliz mientras estás la tierra, así como te dará la certeza de un hogar en los Ámbitos Celestiales.

Jesus – The result of obtaining the Divine Love in removing worry. Prayer is a wonderful help when offered with the true longings of the soul and will always find a response. (9 Jul 1917)
I AM HERE, Jesus.
Well, my brother, I see that you are much better than you have been for some days past, and that you have prayed more to the Father for the inflowing of His Love, and, as a consequence, have more of it in your soul, and are in a better condition spiritually and physically.
I should like to finish my message on God tonight, but I do not think that you are in just the condition necessary to enable you to receive it, and I think it desirable to postpone it for a while longer.
You must surely realize the effect of prayer to a greater extent than ever, because if you had not prayed as you have been doing for the past few days, you would have found yourself in a great degree of despondency. as the same cause for creating this despondency exists now as it existed several days ago when you were so depressed and worried. Prayer is a wonderful help when offered with the true longings of the soul and will always find a response, and the benefit will not be merely spiritual but, as you may say, material as well.
Of course, prayer does not remove the cause of worry and thus relieve the mortal from worry, but it operates on the mortal’s consciousness in such a way as to remove the effect of this cause of worry on the feelings and mental conditions of the mortal, and in this way is the mortal benefitted and his prayers responded to. He, as it were, becomes a new man and ceases to look upon these causes in the same light that he did before the prayers commenced to bring their responses. And he in his real self, is a different man from what he was when in the condition that existed before he prayed.
I am so very glad that you prayed and let your longings go out to the Father, and tried to have faith in us to help you. We are helping you, and you will soon realize the result of our work in securing those things that you desire and consider necessary to enable you to get rid of your worries and perform our work. Continue to pray and to have faith in us, and you will not be disappointed in what we promise, for our promises will be fulfilled in a very short time.
I have many messages yet to write, and so desire that you get in condition to receive them properly; and besides myself, there are many other spirits who want to write upon these truths, that are so important that the world should know. So, if you continue to pursue the course that you followed today, you will find a wonderful improvement in your condition of soul and mind and spirit qualities, and we will be able to form the required rapport that is necessary to our properly communicating.
I will not write more tonight. But in closing, I advise that you continue to pray with all the longings of your soul, and to believe with all the strength of your mind and you will develop to a surprising degree in your soul qualities and perceptions and also in your physical condition and mental strength. I will say good night.

John – Why should men learn that they are not to be left to themselves in their conception of what life means, and what its importance is in the economy of man’s creation and destiny. (2 Jul 1916)
I AM HERE, John.
I come tonight to tell you of a truth which is important for you to know as well as for the world of mankind. I will not write a very long message, but what I may say will be the truth and every man should understand it and make it his own.
I will not write upon any subject that you have been instructed upon before, but will deal with a subject entirely new and my subject is: «Why should men learn that they are not to be left to themselves in their conceptions of what life means, and what its importance is in the economy of man’s creation and destiny.» I know that this may seem to you to be a strange subject to write on, but it is one that should be of interest to all men who know that the earth life is very short and then eternity takes them into its embrace and never again permits them to become creatures of time.
Man lives and dies and never lives again according to the materialist, and he is as the brute animal without any future. But the spiritualist, and by that I mean those who believe that there is something more to man than the mere material, believes he lives and never ceases to live, although the physical body dies never to be resurrected again as
such body.
Now, as we take either the one or the other of these views, the meaning of man’s earth life assumes a very different aspect, and calls for very different thoughts and actions on his part in living his life. Of course, if what is called death is the end of things, that man should do, or he should think he should do, as the old saying, «eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow you shall die,» and with that death comes oblivion and forgetfulness never to be awakened again into consciousness. His mission in the universe is fulfilled, and he can no more experience the hopes or ambitions or joys or sorrows which were his as a living man.
But on the other hand, if man never ceases to live, then his thoughts and conduct should be turned towards the accomplishment of that which will provide for him the best possible future.
Those of both opinions know, that when death comes the physical body can no longer be used, and those who believe in the continuous existence know that as the physical body perishes man must have some other form or body in which may be lodged the consciousness of this continued existence, and that body must be as real as the one which he relinquishes. Such being the fact, the man who knows that death does not end all will naturally and necessarily seek to learn what that body of continued existence is like, and what is necessary to enable him to obtain that body and thereby enjoy the living in eternity. And thus seeking he will not be satisfied to learn that that body is the mere spirit body which has been his during all the years of his earth life, but will desire to further learn what the relationship is between that body and the manner of living his earth life.
I know that of himself, man cannot to any degree discover this relationship, and that he must depend upon the teachings and experiences of those who have experienced the separation of the spirit from the physical in order to at all comprehend this relationship.
As one having had this experience, I wish to say that the spirit body is, of itself, a creation like as is the physical body, and has its existence only for the purpose of preserving man’s individuality, and of containing and sheltering his soul, both while on earth and after he becomes a spirit.
Then his living means that he is placed on the earth merely to acquire an individuality, and to learn that within him is the soul which is his real self and which he must cherish and educate and feed with the higher thoughts and goodness of his original creation; and not neglect the opportunities that come to him for this development.
I know that this seems incoherent to you with no special object in view, but you are mistaken in thus thinking for the object will soon be seen. But as you are not just in condition for further writing tonight, I will postpone my writing until later. So trusting that you will not feel inclined to reject the message I will say good night.

Jesus – The Divine Truth must be declared to all mankind. (2 May 1920)
I AM HERE, Jesus.
Let me write for I am anxious to tell you that you are in a much better condition than you have been for a long time, and your thoughts of today and especially of tonight have put you in a spiritual condition, and if you continue in these thoughts and longings you will soon enable us to make the rapport by which we can continue our messages with greater frequency and with exact expression of what we desire to convey.
I have been with you a great deal today, and have tried to exercise upon your soul and mind an influence that will cause you to more fully realize the responsibility that rests upon you and the importance of the work that you are to do. I was with you at church this morning and saw the impression made upon your mind by the preacher, when he asked the question – if any one had anything to offer that would show him that he had not grasped all of the truth as to the spiritual things, as he called them, that would cause men to aspire for and obtain a higher course of living – and also saw that you realized that your work, if carried to its conclusions, would answer that question. And so you must think of this question and try with all the powers that have been given you to learn these truths, so they can be made known – not only to the preachers of the so-called Christian churches but to all mankind. You already have truths enough to show this minister that he is not preaching the true Christian spirituality that I came to the world to teach, and did teach, and that he must not rest satisfied with his knowledge of spiritual things but must seek for more light and truth, and then make them a part of his own possessions, and teach them to the world of men, and especially those to whom he has the opportunity of ministering.
I am much pleased that you are in so much better condition of soul, and want you to persist in your efforts to obtain more of the Love of the Father, and then you will be able to bring true enlightenment to the unthinking and unknowing world, of the truths that are so vital to their salvation.
I was also with you tonight and saw the impression made on you by the preacher when he set forth Samuel as he then was, as an example to be followed by the true seekers after the important things that lead to spiritual regeneration and perfect manhood, and was glad that you could appreciate how far the character of Samuel fell short of what is necessary to make a man the Divine Angel, or even the perfect man. The preacher does not experience the truth of the Divine Love in his soul, and in fact has not even an intellectual knowledge of its existence and operations. He believes that I am God, and that my blood washes away the sins of all men who believe in me; and thus thinking, he is satisfied to rest upon the promise of the Gospels, which he accepts as the true teachings of me.
Samuel is now here, and was with you at the church, and realized how devoid he was, at the time spoken of by the preacher, of that thing which was necessary to his salvation. And that his demand upon the people to behold him, and then bring any charge of unrighteousness that they could against him and his conduct as a servant and prophet of Jehovah (sic). This is a very pretty story and to a certain extent contains in it a teaching of the moral laws that works for good, but it is not more important than many other things contained in the Old Testament. Samuel will come some time and write you of his life on earth, and his ministry as a servant of Jehovah. (Note: Message from Samuel Vol. I – Pages 270-273.)
Well my dear brother, I will not write more tonight, but will soon came and write an important message, which I know will not only benefit but interest you.
Well, I will write on the subject that you suggest, for this is an important thing for men to know, as so many think they are doing God’s will in their various courses of living and in their various forms of worship. His will is one that corresponds with all the laws that affect man in every way, and men must know what this will is.
I will come soon and write on this subject and hope that you may be successful in receiving my message as I intend to deliver it.With my love and blessing, and the assurance that I will be with you in all times of need, and try to direct you in your thoughts, I will say good night.

Well dear, I am so happy that you are in such good condition to receive the messages, and that you have again realized the presence of the Love in your soul, and have turned your longings and desires to the Father, for an increase of His Love.
I cannot tell you how solicitous I have been for you, and have prayed the Father that he would pour out his Holy Spirit upon you, and call you again to the work that you must do. How different you are when in the condition of love from what you are when indifferent and cold and shut in, as it were, to your thoughts of the material. If you could only appreciate what it all means to be in this condition of indifference, you would try with all the powers of your soul and mind to never let the condition come over you. There is nothing in all the universe that can possibly compensate for the loss of this feeling of the possession of the active Love in your soul, and you must realize it.
I am so glad that the Master wrote you as he did, and hope that you will remember what he said, and become in unison with him and the work that he has given you to do. Be true to him and to yourself and you will arrive at the state of will that will make and keep you very happy while on earth, and give you the certainty of a home in the Celestial Heavens.
But believe that I love you with all my soul, and want you to be very happy. Many spirits are anxious to write.
