La lectura de estos mensajes dura en el audio hasta el minuto 15:48, y luego hay comentarios. Esta vez los mensajes tienen cierta relación directa con el tema de este apartado 11 ─que agrupa mensajes muy variados─.
Son mensajes de un completo desconocido (B.), de Lucas y de Garner. Tratan por ejemplo de las dificultades, en el progreso, desde el estado bajo al que muchas personas llegan al pasar al mundo espiritual.
A continuación, pues, tratamos parte del apartado:

Se trata de los últimos tres mensajes contenidos en este apartado.
El tema principal en el apartado es «la expiación vicaria», ya que es una creencia o dogma muy dañino.

Un espíritu escribe sobre su experiencia en los infiernos – «En el infierno es difícil aprender las cosas celestiales» (B.) (8 enero 1917)
Estoy aquí, B., y quiero decir unas palabras. El indio intentó detenerme, pero tu esposa dijo que me dejara escribir, y eso es lo que estoy haciendo.
Bueno, sigo en el infierno, sufriendo, y desearía poder morir de nuevo, pero no puedo y tendré que soportarlo. Ni siquiera puedo hacerme el sordo (era muy sordo cuando vivía en la carne) para poder escapar de algunos de mis tormentos, pues estoy rodeado de los seres más infernales que puedas imaginar, y tengo que escucharlos. Es inútil intentar luchar, pues no puedo lastimar a nadie, y se volvieron aún más molestos cuando intenté golpear a uno de ellos.
Es horrible, y lamento no haber escuchado ni intentado comprender lo que el Doctor me decía tantas veces cuando estaba en la Tierra, pero ahora es demasiado tarde. A menudo escucho lo que te dice ahora en vuestras conversaciones, pero por alguna razón no logro comprenderlo del todo, y además, si lo hiciera, estos malditos espíritus me arrebatarían toda la comprensión. «En el infierno es difícil aprender lo que llamáis cosas celestiales», y soy tan infeliz que no encuentro manera alguna de alivio.
El padre del Doctor me habló y me contó cosas parecidas a las que me decía el Doctor, y me sentí mejor mientras me las contaba, y me invadió la esperanza, pero cuando regresé a mi infierno y vi todos los horrores, y los espíritus aulladores y feos, lo olvidé, y los sentimientos infernales volvieron a mí, y sufrí.
¡Oh, si tan solo pudiera encontrar algún alivio a estos tormentos!
Bueno, lo intentaré de nuevo, porque sé que el sr. Stone es amable y quiere ayudarme, pero mi problema es que dudo que pueda, pero haré como me aconsejas e intentaré creer que sí puede. Os estoy muy agradecido, a ti y al Doctor, y mantendré la esperanza. Haré lo que sea para salir de este lugar y alejarme de estos demonios.
Tu esposa dice que debo parar, así que buenas noches.

Comentarios sobre el escrito del espíritu: «Es difícil aprender cosas celestiales en el infierno» (San Lucas) (8 enero 1917)
Aquí estoy, Lucas.
Quiero escribir unas líneas sobre un tema que puede ser de vuestro interés. Habéis señalado esa expresión que aparece en la carta que acabáis de recibir: «es difícil aprender cosas celestiales en el infierno». Es una afirmación concisa de una gran verdad, y una que, si los mortales conocieran y apreciaran plenamente, les haría darse cuenta de la necesidad de pensar y aprender sobre estas cosas celestiales mientras están en la tierra.
Sé que muchos dicen que no creen en el infierno ortodoxo, ni en la necesidad de preocuparse por el futuro, o que ya se las arreglarán en la otra vida, si es que existe. Si estas personas comprendieran el significado de tal manera de vida, no dejarían su futuro al azar, sino que, mientras están en la tierra, buscarían estas cosas celestiales y comenzarían a comprenderlas ya, sin esperar a haber abandonado la forma de la carne.
Dicen que un Dios justo no los castigará condenándolos al tormento eterno, y tienen razón; y si bien este Dios justo no los condena en absoluto, sí están condenados por una ley tan invariable como el amor de ese Dios, y esa ley trae consigo su castigo seguro, aunque no sea eterno. Pero es seguro, y su duración depende en gran medida del espíritu mismo. Si el espíritu se encuentra en una condición en la que no puede comenzar su camino hacia la redención hasta mucho tiempo después de su llegada al mundo espiritual, entonces ese castigo se prolongará. Y si el comienzo depende, como sucede muy frecuentemente, de la habilidad y capacidad del espíritu para recibir y comprender aquellas cosas que lo pondrán en marcha en su progreso, entonces muchos espíritus permanecerán durante años y años en la condición en que se encuentran cuando llegan por primera vez a sus hogares en los infiernos.
En estos lugares no hay nada que provoque o ayude en la comprensión de estas cosas celestiales, sino, por lo contrario, hay todo aquello que impide y obstruye una tal comprensión: incluso desesperanza, y creencias en un castigo eterno y, a menudo, desconocimiento de que exista otro lugar mejor que aquel en el que se encuentran.
Y quiero decir aquí que en el espíritu no hay nada que posea las cualidades o los poderes para iniciar su progreso, y en este sentido, la antigua expresión bíblica «tal como cae el árbol, así queda» (Ecl. 11:3) es cierta. Incluso en lo que respecta al amor natural, estos espíritus en los infiernos no pueden dar un inicio a pensamientos ni creencias elevadas, y sólo cuando reciben alguna influencia externa pueden tener un despertar a sus latentes naturalezas verdaderas y superiores, de modo que su progreso pueda comenzar. Con esto no quiero decir que sea necesario que un guía superior y espiritual los visite, sino sólo que deben recibir alguna influencia externa para poder experimentar ese despertar. Esta influencia puede provenir de un espíritu en una condición aparentemente similar a la suya, pero que ha vislumbrado una verdad edificante que puede transmitir al oscuro espíritu hermano.
Todos los espíritus pueden ayudar a otros que se encuentran en una condición inferior o más estancada que la suya, y a veces lo hacen; pero el gran problema radica en que, a menos que los espíritus que potencialmente pueden ayudar tengan algún deseo de beneficiar a sus compañeros espíritus de la oscuridad, no intentarán hacerlo. Y así, sucede como tu amigo dice: «en el infierno es difícil aprender sobre las cosas celestiales». Él comprende plenamente este hecho, e incluso con la ayuda que se le ha ofrecido y que se le brindará, le resultará difícil comenzar.
La vida mortal no es el único lugar de prueba [probation], pero es el más importante y el más fácil para que el hombre inicie su camino y comprenda los comienzos [beginning] de estas cosas celestiales.
No escribiré más ahora, pero vendré pronto y escribiré un mensaje formal.
Con todo mi amor para ti y tu amigo, os digo: tened fe y no permitáis que os entre la duda acerca de las cosas celestiales de las que os hemos escrito.

Estoy aquí para decirte que Dios es amor y que todos los humanos son Sus hijos y objeto de Su generosidad [bounty] y cuidado. Ni siquiera el pecador más vil está fuera del alcance de Su amor y cuidado.
Él no es un Dios que necesite propiciación ni sacrificio, sino que llama a todos Sus hijos a venir a Él y participar libremente del gran banquete de Amor que les ha preparado, y disfrutar de la felicidad que brinda Su presencia.
Así pues, amigo mío, no pienses ni por un momento que las puertas de la misericordia o la entrada a las delicias de Su hogar celestial se cierran con la muerte del cuerpo, pues te digo que la muerte del cuerpo es simplemente la entrada en una vida superior con mayores oportunidades. Pero a pesar de lo que digo, el alma que busca obtener este Amor mientras está en la tierra tiene una gran ventaja temporal sobre la que espera a que su espíritu abandone el cuerpo antes de buscar el amor del Padre. El mejor momento para que los mortales aspiren a alcanzar este Gran Don es ahora, y ningún momento es más propicio. El amor de Dios es para el mortal, incluso si éste tiene esas pasiones y apetitos con los que la carne le abruma; y cuando un mortal lucha contra las tentaciones que estas cargas le imponen, y las vence, entonces, al entrar en el mundo espiritual, es más fuerte y tiene mayor capacidad de progreso que cuando posterga el gran intento hasta convertirse en puramente espíritu.
Así pues, aunque no exista tal condición como la terminación del periodo de prueba [probation] al entrar el mortal en el mundo espiritual, no obstante, dicho periodo en la tierra es el momento idóneo para buscar el Gran Premio.
Sé que escribo como algunos de vuestros predicadores de reuniones campestres, pero lo que digo es no obstante una verdad, y dichoso el mortal que comprende este hecho y actúa en consecuencia.
Jesús obra entre los mortales ahora tal como lo hizo cuando estuvo en la Tierra, y aunque las personas no puedan ver su forma física ni oír su voz de amor en tonos de bendición y súplica, sí sienten la influencia de su amor y escuchan la persuasión de su voz espiritual en sus corazones.
Él sigue siendo el Salvador de los hombres tal como lo fue en la Tierra, y su misión no cesará hasta el cierre del Reino Celestial, y hasta que el pecado y el error sean erradicados de la tierra y del mundo espiritual. Él triunfará y vencerá sobre el pecado y sobre todo aquello que tiende a desviar al hombre de lo bueno y lo justo.
El hombre, al poseer únicamente su amor natural, será liberado de toda inarmonía y vivirá como hermanos y amigos en paz y felicidad. Y los espíritus, al poseer el Amor Divino, se convertirán en ángeles de Dios y vivirán para siempre en la dicha de los Ámbitos Celestiales.
Por eso, exhorto a todos los hombres a buscar el Amor Divino del Padre y vivir en Su presencia para siempre.
Debo concluir ya, pero antes de irme, permíteme decirte que estoy colaborando con el Maestro en la gran causa que hará que los hombres que buscan este Amor, sean uno con el Padre.

Spirit Writes His Experience in the Hells – «It Is Hard To Learn of Heavenly Things in Hell» (B____) (8 Jan 1917)
I am here, B ____. and I want to say a word. The Indian tried to stop me, but your wife said let him write, and I am doing so.
Well, I am still in hell, and suffering, and I wish that I could die again, but I cannot and will have to stand it. I can’t even be deaf (was very deaf when he lived in the flesh) so that I might escape some of my torments, for I am surrounded by the most hellish beings you can imagine, and I have to listen to them. It is no use trying to fight, for I can’t hurt anybody, and they became more annoying when I did try to punch one of them.
It is awful, and so I regret that I did not listen and try to understand what the Doctor so often told me when on earth, but now it is too late. I often hear what he says to you now in your conversations, but for some reason I can’t quite understand, and besides, if I did, these damned ugly spirits would knock all the understanding out of me. «IT IS HARD TO LEARN WHAT YOU CALL HEAVENLY THINGS IN HELL,» and I am so unhappy and see no way to relief.
The Doctor’s father talked to me and told me some things that were like what the Doctor told me, and I felt better when he was telling me, and some hope came to me, but when I got back into my hell and saw all the horrors and the shrieking, ugly spirits, I forgot, and the hell feelings came to me again, and I suffered.
Oh, if I could only find some relief from these torments!
Well, I will try again, for I know that Mr. Stone is kind and wants to help me, but my trouble is, that I doubt if he can, but I will go as you advise and try to believe that he can. I am very thankful to you and the Doctor and will try to hope. Anything to get out of this place and away from these devils.
Your wife says I must stop. So good night.

Comments on the Spirit Writing – «It is Hard to Learn of Heavenly Things in Hell.» (St. Luke) (8 Jan 1917)
I am here. Luke.
I want to write a few lines upon a subject that may be of interest to you both. You have remarked upon the expression obtained in the letter that you have just received, «that it is hard to learn of heavenly things in hell.» It is a statement in a succinct way of a great truth, and one, if it were known and fully appreciated by mortals, it would cause them to realize the necessity of thinking and learning of these heavenly things while on earth.
I know that many say, they will not believe in the orthodox hell, or in the necessity of troubling themselves about the future, or that they will take their chance in the hereafter, if there be one. If these persons could realize the meaning of such a course of life, they would not leave their future to chance, but would, while on earth, seek for these heavenly things, and make a start for the realization of these things now, and not wait until they had left the form of flesh.
They say that a just God will not punish them by condemning them to eternal torment, and they are correct; and while this just God does not condemn them at all, yet they are condemned by a law that is just as invariable as is the love of that God, and that law brings its certain punishment, even though it may not be eternal. But it is certain, and upon the spirit itself depends very largely its duration. If the spirit finds itself in that condition that it cannot make a start towards its redemption, until a long time after its coming into the spirit world, then that punishment will longer continue; and, if the start depends, as it does very frequently, upon the ability and capacity of the spirit to receive and understand those things that will start it upon its progress, then many spirits will remain for years and years in the condition in which they find themselves when they first come to their homes in the hells.
There is nothing in these places to induce or help the understanding of these heavenly things, but, on the contrary, everything to prevent and obstruct such understanding; even hopelessness and beliefs in an eternity of punishment, and, frequently, want of knowledge that there is any other or better place than where they find themselves.
And I want to say here, that within the spirit there is nothing that has the qualities or powers to start it on a progression, and in this sense, the old Bible expression, «that as a tree falleth so shall it lie,» is true. Even as to the natural love these spirits in the hells, cannot initiate a start towards high thoughts and beliefs, and only when some influence from without comes to them, can they have an awakening of their dormant better and true natures, so that their progress may commence. I don’t mean by this that it is necessary that some high and spiritual helper shall come to them, but only that some influence from outside of themselves must come in order for them to have an awakening. This influence may be from a spirit in an apparently similar condition to their own, but which has received some glimpse of uplifting truth that it may convey to the dark brother spirit.
All spirits can help others who are in a lower or more stagnant condition than themselves, and sometimes they do; but the great trouble here is, that unless the possibly helping spirits have some desire to benefit their fellow spirits of darkness, they do not try to help. and so as your friend says, «it is hard to learn of heavenly things in hell.» He realizes that fact fully, and even with the help that has been offered and will be given him, he will find it difficult to make a start.
The mortal life is not the only place of probation, but it is the most important place, and the easiest for man to make his start in, and understand the beginning of these heavenly things.
I will not write more now, but will soon come and write a formal message.
So with my love to you and friend, I will say to you both, have faith and let not doubt come to you as to the heavenly things that we have written you about.

All Sin and Error Will Eventually Be Eradicated from Men’s Souls (John Garner – Celestial Spirit, Preacher of England) (8 Aug 1915)
I am here to tell you that God is love and that all mankind are His children and the object of His bounty and care. Not even the vilest sinner is beyond the boundaries of His care and love.
He is not a God, who needs propitiation or sacrifice, but calls to all His children to come unto Him and partake freely of the great feast of Love which he has prepared for them and enjoy the happiness which His presence gives.
So my friend, do not for a moment think that the doors of mercy or the entrance into the delights of His heavenly home is closed by the death of the body, for I tell you that the death of the body is a mere entrance into a higher life with increased opportunities. But notwithstanding what I say, the soul that seeks to obtain this Love while on earth has a great advantage in time over the one that waits until his spirit leaves the body before seeking for the Father’s love. The best time for mortals to aspire to attaining this GREAT GIFT is the now, and no time is so propitious. God’s love is for the mortal even if he has the passions and appetites which the flesh encumbers him with, and when a mortal fights against the temptations which these burdens impose, and overcomes, he, when he enters the spirit world, is stronger and more able to progress, than when he puts off the great attempt until he becomes purely spirit.
So, while there is no such condition as probation terminated when the mortal enters the spirit world, yet the probation on earth is the accepted time to seek the Great Prize.
I know I am writing like some of your camp meeting preachers, but what I say is a truth nevertheless, and happy is the mortal who realizes this fact and acts in accordance.
Jesus is working among mortals now as He did when on earth, and although they cannot see His physical form or hear His voice of love in tones of benediction and pleading, yet the influence of His love is felt and the persuasion of His spirit voice is heard in the hearts of men.
He is still the Saviour of men as He was on earth, and His mission will not cease until the closing of the Celestial Kingdom, and sin and error shall be eradicated from earth and from the spirit world. He will be the Triumphor and Conqueror over sin and everything that tends to pervert man from that which is good and righteous.
Man, having only his natural love, will be freed from all inharmony and live as brothers and friends in peace and happiness. And spirits having the Divine Love, become as angels of God, and live forever in the bliss of the Celestial Heavens.
So I urge upon all men to seek the Divine Love of the Father and live in His presence forever.
I must stop now, but before I go let me say, that I am working with the Master in the great cause that will make men
who seek this Love, one with the Father.
So I will say as your brother in Christ, Good-night.
