Forma parte de un libro que es el segundo volumen de una recopilación concreta de los mensajes recibidos a principios del siglo XX por James E. Padgett de parte de varios desencarnados, entre otros, de Jesús de Nazaret.

Versión en español
R. G. Ingersoll estuvo presente cuando Jesús escribió y mostró su gloria. Ya no soy agnóstico; ahora soy un creyente profundamente arrepentido (27 septiembre 1915)
Debo decir unas palabras, pues mi corazón está tan lleno de arrepentimiento y remordimiento [regret and remorse], y del recuerdo de mis terribles errores en la tierra, que debo liberar mi alma de sus cargas hasta donde una confesión pueda hacerlo.
Soy Ingersoll, y ya no soy el agnóstico, sino el creyente más profundamente arrepentido de todo el mundo espiritual de Dios, y alguien que ahora sabe que Jesucristo fue y es el hijo de Dios en el más pleno sentido de la palabra.
Oh, cuánto me alegro de haber acudido a ti cuando lo hice, y de que me hayas hecho buscar la compañía de tu grupo de espíritus hermosos y brillantes, llenos del Divino Amor del Padre. Pues si no hubiera estado presente entonces, no habría presenciado la escena de anoche ni hoy sería creyente en Jesús, quien ahora sé que es el Salvador de los hombres por su maravilloso amor y conocimiento de la verdad.
Bueno, mi querido amigo, una escena como la que presencié anoche nunca se había presenciado en la tierra, excepto, como ahora creo, por los tres discípulos del Maestro en la transfiguración del Monte. Y dudo que la gloria fuera tan grande y el resplandor del Maestro tan cegador y magnífico como lo fueron anoche.
Había visto al Maestro algunas veces, y aunque para mí era el más hermoso y amoroso de todos los espíritus, y alguien por quien sentía un gran afecto, no tenía ninguna idea sobre los demás atributos o cualidades suyos que mostró anoche.
Y qué debo pensar de ti, un simple mortal como miles de otros en la tierra, con un desarrollo del alma hasta cierto punto ─pero no hasta el punto de ninguno de los espíritus en las esferas del alma aquí, según me han informado─, que es seleccionado para la obra de cumplir los deseos del Maestro en la tierra, y siendo que esa selección fue declarada, o más bien ratificada, mediante una ocasión que hizo temblar de asombro reverencial [awe] a todos los espíritus presentes ante la gloria y el poder que mostró Jesucristo, a quien yo, en la tierra, proclamé simplemente un buen hombre.
Te digo que eres maravillosamente favorecido, no sólo por haber sido seleccionado para hacer su obra, sino por haber sido ungido, por así decirlo, con tal evidencia de gloria y poder divino [God-like] como la mostrada anoche.
No tenía ni idea de lo que significaba la gloria de Dios, ni de lo que podía significar el poder de Dios, y menos aún suponía que algún espíritu en todo el mundo espiritual pudiera poseer tal gloria o manifestar tal poder. Pero Jesucristo posee la gloria y el poder a tal grado que lo hace casi como divino [godlike].
Como dije, estuve presente y lo observé mientras él te escribía, y también lo que escribía, y mientras él procedía a decirte que te había elegido para hacer su obra, era el hermoso y amoroso Jesús que siempre es, como lo había conocido; pero mientras continuaba, y tú dudabas de la posibilidad de tales cosas ─e incluso de si Jesús realmente te escribía─, apareció en su rostro una maravillosa mirada de autoridad y poder, y luego un resplandor aún más maravilloso que eclipsaba al sol del mediodía, y una gloria indescriptible, que ninguno de nosotros podía contemplar, y caímos postrados a tierra, como vosotros diríais.
Oh, te digo, el poder que emanaba de él era inconcebible, y la maravillosa autoridad que se mostraba en todo su ser era insoportable tanto para espíritus como para mortales, y nos llenamos de asombro reverencial y admiración.
Cuando terminó de escribir, la gloria y el brillo que describo lo abandonaron, y apareció de nuevo como el humilde y amoroso, aunque hermoso, Maestro. Y antes de dejarnos, nos dio sus bendiciones, y me llegó una gran paz que sobrepasa todo entendimiento. Ahora sé que Jesús es mi salvador, que el Amor Divino del Padre es algo real, y que estoy esforzándome por alcanzarlo.
Creo en el Nuevo Nacimiento y rezo por él, y tu querida abuela me dice que pronto lo recibiré.
Así que ahora te digo que puedes declarar al mundo que Ingersoll, el agnóstico, ya no es agnóstico, sino un creyente en el Amor Divino del Padre y en Jesucristo, Su amado hijo, y el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida.
No escribiré más esta noche, pero cuando haya ordenado mis pensamientos y sentimientos te escribiré extensamente y te contaré lo que mi alma me dice sobre mi futuro destino.

Estoy aquí, Helen.
Bueno, cariño, has recibido mensajes maravillosos esta noche, todos confirmando que el Maestro te ha elegido y confirmado para su obra.
Cuán agradecida estoy de que esta evidencia te haya llegado, pues ahora no puedes dudar, y vas a disponer todos tus planes para cumplir los deseos del Maestro y estar en condición de recibir sus mensajes.
Ahora, debemos detenernos.
Pero, ay, mi querido Ned, pensar que eres objeto de la elección del Maestro y de su gran amor. Quiéreme como yo te quiero,

Juan el Bautista confirma que Jesús escribió (30 diciembre 1915)
No permitas que tu corazón se turbe, cree en Dios y en el Maestro [ref.]. Esto es tan cierto esta noche como lo fue cuando Jesús se lo dijo a sus discípulos, hace muchos siglos.
Eres su discípulo ahora, con la misma certeza que ellos lo fueron, y aunque no puedas verlo ni oír su voz, como ellos, las palabras se pronunciaron esta noche con el mismo énfasis con que fueron pronunciadas a los demás discípulos.
No te das cuenta del amor y las poderosas influencias que te acompañan esta noche; de lo contrario, dejarías que tus preocupaciones se fueran con el viento y nunca regresaran.
Solo quiero decirte esto para que veas que hay otro, de entre los espíritus celestiales, que sabe que las promesas del Maestro se cumplirán.
No estoy aquí simplemente porque quiera animarte, sino porque quiero trasladarte un hecho, efectivamente un hecho: que pronto te verás aliviado de tus preocupaciones.
Acércate a Dios en oración y encontrarás un gran consuelo, como todos lo hemos encontrado en nuestros problemas, así como cuando en la tierra fuimos muchos los perseguidos ─lo que resultó en la muerte de muchos de nosotros─. Pero teníamos fe, y nuestra fe y el amor del Maestro nos ayudaron a superar muchos momentos difíciles. Tan solo quiero añadir otra confirmación a quienes te han dicho que te verás aliviado de estas preocupaciones.

Santiago dice que el sr. Padgett pronto será aliviado de sus preocupaciones (31 octubre 1916)
Cuanto más débil estás, más fuerte eres, porque entonces confías más en el poder y la ayuda del Padre [ref.]. Tal ha sido tu condición esta noche, y quiero decirte que has recibido una cantidad maravillosa del Amor del Padre y del Amor del Maestro. Te digo esto porque lo sé a partir de lo que realmente he visto. Así que no dejes que tus preocupaciones te perturben tanto. Trata de pensar más en las promesas del Maestro y en el Amor del Padre, y te darás cuenta de que la ayuda está muy cerca de ti.
Todos estamos aquí esta noche porque nos interesamos en ti y queremos verte feliz, y así debes estar. Y si tan solo pudieras reconocer el amor que te rodea, dejarías de preocuparte tanto.
El Maestro te ha dicho que tus preocupaciones pronto te abandonarán y debes creerle, porque es verdad.
Lo sé, y sólo puedo corroborar lo que dice, para que no sigas permitiendo que estos problemas transitorios te mantengan en un estado de pesadumbre y abatimiento.

Lucas y Juan aseguran que el alivio pronto llegará al sr. Padgett (31 octubre 1916)
Yo también estoy aquí, y quiero asegurarte que nuestro amor está del todo contigo esta noche, y estamos tratando de hacerte sentir que no estás abandonado, aunque las cosas se vean muy oscuras y veas muy poca luz. Pero la luz pronto llegará, y con ella, un alivio que te hará comprender que el Mundo Celestial está contigo en amor y poder.
Veo lo preocupado que has estado hoy y la impotencia que te embargaba, pero estuvimos contigo entonces, y tratamos de ayudarte y animarte con nuestra influencia.
No escribiré más esta noche, y sólo te diré que soy tu hermano en Cristo,

Estoy aquí, Juan, apóstol de Jesús.
Bueno, te diré que ahora estás rodeado del amor y de la influencia de un grupo de Espíritus Celestiales, quienes te envían sus mejores deseos y su amor. Intento hacerte sentir mi presencia y mi amor, y si abres tu corazón, te darás cuenta de que estás rodeado de amor.
Somos muchos, y estamos plenamente deseosos de que sientas nuestra presencia; y debes orar más al Padre y pedirle más fe. La recibirás y te verás fortalecido en consecuencia.
Así que, antes de terminar, permíteme decirte que estás bajo el total y especial cuidado del Maestro, y que su amor por ti esta noche fue maravilloso. Parecía que todo su amor se centraba en ti, y no dudo de que sintieras su influencia.
Me detendré ya, y te diré que tienes mi amor y mi bendición.

Bernabé dice que el sr. Padgett es el favorito del Maestro en la tierra (30 septiembre 1915)
Así piensan los hombres cuando surgen problemas: No puedo hacer nada por mí mismo, pero acudiré a mi Padre y buscaré su ayuda; y los pensamientos son verdaderos y la ayuda es segura.
Tú eres ese hombre esta noche, y no te decepcionarás, pues encontrarás alivio a tus preocupaciones y la ayuda que el Padre te brindará.
El Maestro es todo amor y pareces ser su favorito en la tierra, y puedes estar seguro de que no serás abandonado. Te digo esto porque lo sé por experiencia.

Confirmación de John Wesley (30 septiembre 1915)
Cuando el Maestro dijo: «Apacienta mis ovejas» [ref.], no sólo quiso decir que Pedro, y aquellos a quienes se dirigía, debían alimentar la naturaleza espiritual de quienes creyeran en él y se esforzaran por pertenecer a su rebaño, sino que también tuvo el designio de que sus necesidades materiales fueran atendidas. Y esta noche está diciendo lo mismo, y, como tú eres su oveja de especial cuidado y amor, él quiere que se te conceda todo lo necesario para tu bienestar. Así que no dudes en absoluto, sino cree que serás cuidado en todos tus momentos de necesidad.
Esta noche él fue tan amoroso contigo que todos nos quedamos un poco estupefactos ante el gran amor que te llegaba, y pensamos en lo querido que has de ser para él. Nunca antes lo había visto tan interesado en ninguna persona en particular, y cuando comprendas lo que son su amor y su poder, te asombrarás aún más que nosotros.
Veo cuáles son tus problemas, y aunque te puedan parecer enormes como montañas, sólo son algo pasajero y pronto pasarán. Así que cree en lo que el Maestro te dijo, y ora al Padre por Amor y fe. No escribiré más, sino que te diré que Dios te bendiga.

El predicador Garner da ánimos (30 septiembre 1915)
Permite que las preocupaciones se vayan (Nota: El sr. Padgett me dijo (L. R. Stone) que poco después de recibir los mensajes anteriores, las causas de sus preocupaciones desaparecieron) y se apaguen por sí mismas, y dirige tus pensamientos y aspiraciones álmicas hacia Dios, pues estas son las cosas eternas, y las del mundo son las meramente transitorias.
Digo esto porque sé que, si tan solo oras al Padre y confías en el Maestro, constatarás que lo que digo es la verdad, y que puede ser comprendido y llevado a cabo tanto por los mortales como por los espíritus. Así pues, hermano mío, trata de ver estas preocupaciones de esa manera.
Estoy contigo a menudo tratando de ayudarte y de hacerte sentir mi influencia y amor.

Bueno, esta noche has recibido los mensajes de consuelo más maravillosos que yo jamás haya sabido que se hayan dado a algún mortal. Con cuánto amor te habló el Maestro y trató de consolarte. Es un salvador precioso, y tú pareces serle muy querido.
Intenta confiar en él y haz como te dice.
Todos estos otros son Espíritus Celestiales, y también están muy interesados en ti, y quieren que te libres de tus preocupaciones. Tienes sueño y debes irte a la cama.

R. G. Ingersoll was present when Jesus wrote and showed his glory. Agnostic no longer – a most repentant believer now. (27 Sep 1915)
I must say a word, for my heart is so filled with regret and remorse, and the recollections of my awful mistakes while on earth, that I must release my soul of its burdens so far as a confession can do it.
I am Ingersoll, and I am not the agnostic any longer, but the most repentant believer in all God’s spirit world, and one who now knows that Jesus Christ was and is the son of God to the fullest meaning of the word.
Oh, how glad I am that I came to you when I did, and that you caused me to seek the society of your band of beautiful and bright spirits who are filled with the Divine Love of the Father. For if I had not been with then I would not have witnessed the scene of last night, and today be a believer in the Jesus, who I now know is the savior of men by his wonderful love and knowledge of the truth.
Well my dear friend, such a scene as I witnessed last night was never witnessed on earth, except as I now believe, by the three disciples of the Master at the transfiguration on the Mount, and then I doubt if the glory was as great and the brightness of the Master so blinding and magnificent as they were last night.
I had seen the Master a number of times, and while to me he was the most beautiful and loving of all spirits and one to whom I was drawn in great affection, yet I had no conception of the other qualities or attributes of his which he displayed last night.
And what must I think of you, a mere mortal as are thousands of others on earth, having a soul development to a certain degree, but not to that of any of the spirits in the soul spheres here, as I am informed, to be selected for the work of doing the Master’s desires on earth, and having that selection declared or rather ratified by an occasion that made all the spirits present tremble with awe at the glory and power which were displayed by Jesus Christ, who I, on earth, proclaimed to be merely a good man.
I tell you that you are wonderfully favored, not only in being selected to do his work, but in having that selection anointed, as it were, by such evidence of glory and God-like power as were shown last night.
I had no conception of what the glory of God meant or what the power of God could mean, and least of all did I suppose that any spirit in all the spirit world could possibly possess such glory or manifest such power. But Jesus Christ possesses the glory and power to such a degree as to make him almost godlike.
As I said, I was present, and observed him as he wrote to you, and also what he wrote, and as he proceeded to tell you that he had selected you to do his work, he was the beautiful loving Jesus that he always is, as I had seen him; but as he proceeded and you doubted the possibilities of such things, and even to doubt if Jesus was really writing to you, there came into his countenance a wonderful look of authority and power and then the more wonderful brightness that outshone the noonday sun, and glory indescribable, and upon which none of us could look, and we fell prostrate to the earth, as you would say.
Oh, I tell you, the power which emanated from him was beyond all conception, and the wondrous authority that appeared in his whole being was not possible of being withstood by either spirits or mortals – and we were filled with awe and admiration.
When he had finished writing, the glory and brightness that I describe, left him, and he again appeared the humble loving but beautiful Master; and before leaving us he gave us his blessings – and to me came a great peace that passeth all understanding. I know now that Jesus is my savior, and that the Divine Love of the Father is a real existing thing, and I am striving to obtain it.
I believe in the New Birth, and am praying for it, and your dear grandmother tells me that I will soon get it.
So now I say to you, that you can declare to the world that Ingersoll the agnostic is no longer an agnostic, but a believer in the Father’s Divine Love and in Jesus Christ his beloved son, and the Way and the Truth and the Life.
I will not write more tonight, but when I shall have gotten my thoughts and feelings together, I will write you at large and tell you of what my soul says as to my future destiny.
Well, thanking you for your kindness and for you having such a grandmother, (Note: Mr. P.’s grandmother had previously helped Ingersoll in his progress) and for such a Jesus, I am,

Well, sweetheart, you have had some wonderful messages tonight, all confirmatory of the fact that the Master has chosen and confirmed you to do his work.
How thankful I am that this evidence has come to you, for now you cannot doubt and you will lay all your plans to carry out the desires of the Master, and to get in condition to receive his messages.
Now, we must stop.
But oh, my dear Ned, to think that you are the object of the Master’s choice and his great love. Love me as I do you,

John the Baptist affirming that Jesus wrote (30 Dec 1915)
Let not your heart be troubled, believe in God and in the Master. This is as true tonight as it was when spoken by Jesus to his disciples many centuries ago.
You are his disciple now just as certainly as were they, and while you cannot see him or hear his voice as they did yet the words are just as emphatically spoken tonight as they were to the other disciples.
You do not realize what love and what powerful influences are with you tonight, else you would let your worries flee to the winds and never return.
I merely want to tell you this to let you see that there is another of the Celestial Spirits who knows that the Master’s promises will be kept.
I am not here because I want to encourage you merely, but because I want to tell you a fact, and fact it is, that you will soon be relieved of your worries.
Go to God in prayer and you will find great consolation as we have all found consolation in our troubles, and when on earth we had a great number who were persecuted resulting in the death of many of us.
But we had faith, and our faith and the love of the Master helped us over many rough places. I merely want to add another confirmation to those who have told you that you will be relieved of these worries.
I will stop and say, that I am your brother in Christ,

St. James says that Mr. Padgett will soon get relief from worry. (31 Oct 1916)
When you are weakest, then are you strongest, because then you rely more on the power and help of the Father.
Such has been your condition tonight, and I want to tell you that you have received a wonderful amount of the Father’s Love, and the love of the Master. This I tell you because I know from what I actually have seen. So you should not let your worries trouble you so much. Try to think more of the promises of the Master and of the Love of the Father, and you will realize that help is very near you.
We are all here tonight because we are interested in you and want to see you happy, and you should be so; and if you could only know the love that surrounds you, you would cease to worry so much.
The Master has told you that your worries will leave you soon and you must believe him, for it is true.
I know this, and I can only corroborate what he says, so that you must not continue to let these temporary troubles keep you in such a condition of gloom and despondency.
I will not write more tonight.

Luke and John give assurance that relief will soon come to Mr. Padgett. (31 Oct 1916)
I am here too, and want to assure you that our love is all with you tonight, and we are trying to make you feel that you are not forsaken even though things look very dark and you see very little light. But the light will soon come and with it a relief that will make you realize that the Celestial World is with you in love and power.
I see how worried you have been today and what a condition of helplessness possessed you, but we were with you then and were trying to help and encourage you with our influence.
I will not write more tonight, but will say I am

Well, I will say that you are now surrounded by the love and influences of a band of Celestial Spirits, all sending to you their best and kindest wishes, as well as their love. I am now trying to make you feel my presence and love, and if you will open up your heart, you will realize that you are surrounded by love.
We are many and all anxious that you feel our presence, and you must pray to the Father more and ask for more faith. You will receive it, and will be correspondingly strengthened.
So let me say before I close, that you are all the special care of the Master, and his love for you tonight was something wonderful. He seemed to let all his love center on you, and I do not doubt that you felt its influence.
I will stop now and say that you have my love and blessing,

Such are the thoughts of men when troubles arise: I can do nothing of my self, but will go to my Father and seek His aid; and the thoughts are true and the aid is certain.
You are that man tonight, and you will not be disappointed for you will find relief from your worries and the help that the Father shall bring to you.
The Master is all love and you seem to be his favorite on earth, and you can rest assured that you will not be forsaken. I tell you this because I know from experience.

John Wesley’s affirmation. (30 Sep 1915)
When the Master said, «Feed my shee p», he not only meant that Peter and those to whom he was talking should feed the spiritual natures of those who should believe on him and try to belong to his fold, but he also intended that their material wants should be taken care of. And tonight he is saying the same thing, and as you are his sheep of special care and love, he intends that all the things that are necessary for your well being shall be given you. So do not doubt at all, but believe that you will be looked after in all your times of need.
He was so loving to you tonight that we were all somewhat astonished at the great love which we saw going to you, and thought how dear you must be to him. I have never seen him take such interest in any particular person before, and when you realize what his love and power are, you will be more astonished than were we.
I see what your troubles are, and while they may seem mountains high to you, they are merely temporary and will soon pass away. So believe in what the Master told you, and pray to the Father for Love and faith. I will not write more, but will say God bless you.

Garner the preacher gives encouragement. (30 Sep 1915)
Let the worries go (Note: Mr. Padgett told me (L. R. Stone) that soon after he received the above messages, the causes of his worries were
removed) and bury themselves, and turn your thoughts and soul aspirations to God, for these are the things eternal and those of the world merely temporary things.
I say this, because I know, that if you will only pray to the Father and trust in the Master you will realize that what I say is the truth, and can be understood and realized by mortals as well as by spirits. So my brother try to look on these worries in that way.
I am with you often trying to help you and have you feel my influence and love.

I AM HERE, Helen.
Well, you have had the most wonderful consolatory messages tonight, that I have ever known to be given to any mortal. With what love the Master spoke to you and tried to comfort you. He is a precious saviour and you seem so dear to him.
Try to trust him and do as he says.
These others are all Celestial Spirits, and are also much interested in you, and want you to get rid of your worries. You are sleepy and must go to bed.
So with all my love I will say good night.
