Forma parte de un libro que es el segundo volumen de una recopilación concreta de los mensajes recibidos a principios del siglo XX por James E. Padgett de parte de varios desencarnados, entre otros, de Jesús de Nazaret.
Estos volúmenes fueron preparados y/o compartidos así por Divine Truth, entre otras personas.
Este segundo volumen no estructura los mensajes según temas. Y tal como se ve en su índice, contiene:

Juan – El Amor Divino siempre está esperando llenar el alma, y lo hará, cuando el anhelo del alma por poseerlo se vuelva auténtico (11 julio 1917)
Estoy aquí, San Juan.
Escuché tu oración y sé que este Amor fluye hacia tu alma, y que ahora estás en una abundante posesión del mismo, de lo cual eres consciente. Nunca te va a fallar si oras con sinceridad y con verdadero anhelo por su venida. Siempre está dispuesto a responder a tus aspiraciones y a hacerte sentir su presencia y la felicidad que conlleva.
Como sabes, soy tu amigo especial en mi labor de ayudar a desarrollar tu alma, y siempre que oras al Padre, como acabas de hacerlo, acudo a ti con mi amor e influencia para ayudarte a abrir tu alma a la afluencia de este Amor. Ten fe, y tendrás la certeza de la presencia del Amor, y de que es tuyo ─el cual busca entrar en tu alma en cada vez mayor abundancia─.
Eres bendecido por tener el conocimiento de la existencia de este Amor, y de que puede ser tuyo si así lo deseas y oras con los verdaderos anhelos de los deseos de tu alma. No puedes dudar de la verdad de lo que escribo, pues como sucede con las cosas cotidianas de la vida, no hay nada más convincente que la experiencia personal, y tu experiencia es tal que no ha habido lugar a dudas. Entonces, si quieres mantener continuamente viva la consciencia de la presencia de este Amor, ora y ora siempre que se presente la oportunidad. Y con esto no me refiero a que esperes un momento en que no estés ocupado con tus asuntos [business affairs], sino a los momentos en que la mente pueda liberarse, aunque sea por un instante, de dichos asuntos. Los anhelos, si se ejercitan solo por un momento, traerán sus frutos; pues el oído de Dios siempre está atento y listo para responder a tales anhelos.
Un momento de sentir unos verdaderos anhelos del alma es más efectivo que horas de oración donde estos anhelos no estén presentes. Las oraciones de boquilla o por hábito no se elevan más allá del aliento que se escapa, y no hacen que el Amor responda y fluya hacia el alma. Recuerda esto, y entonces constata cuán inútiles son todas las oraciones de predicadores y supuestos adoradores cuando los anhelos y deseos del alma no están presentes.
Sólo el alma puede llamar al alma, y el amor responde sólo cuando dicha alma llama. Los meros deseos de la mente, si se me permite expresarlo así, no afectan en lo más mínimo al alma; y como la mente solo puede operar sobre la mente, no es posible que haya actividad alguna de las facultades del alma cuando es sólo la mente lo que está en funcionamiento. Por lo tanto, vas a ver que toda la adoración que proviene meramente de la mente no efectuará la obra del Amor ni pondrá en funcionamiento la obra del Espíritu.
Escribo esto para animarte aún más, y también para aclarar la necesidad de la verdadera oración.

Jesús dice que quienes lo adoran como lo hacen en las iglesias cometen blasfemia (6 mayo 1917)
Estoy aquí, Jesús. Estuve contigo en la iglesia esta mañana y te expresé mis sentimientos respecto a lo que dijo el predicador sobre mi sacrificio y mi sangre. En vez de llamar a su congregación a mostrar gratitud por el sacrificio y la cruz, debería haberles enseñado que el sacrificio y la sangre no los salvan de sus pecados, y que en ese aspecto no hay nada que merezca su gratitud; y que adorarme como ellos lo hacen, y como él les enseña, es blasfemia, y un pecado aún más atroz que la ingratitud.
Logré expresarte mis sentimientos de insatisfacción, y me alegré de haberlo podido hacer, pues eso demuestra que nuestra vinculación se está estrechando, y que con el tiempo podrás recibir mis pensamientos e inspiración, así como mis escritos.
Debes orar y tener fe, y si lo haces, tendrás más experiencias como las de anoche; lo cual simplemente significa un desarrollo más rápido del alma.
Confía en mí y no te decepcionarás.
No escribiré más por ahora.
Así que, con mi amor y la bendición del Padre, te daré las buenas noches.

Helen comenta sobre el estado del sr. Padgett (6 mayo 1917)
Estoy aquí, tu fiel y amorosa Helen.
Bueno, querido, veo que no tienes ganas de escribir mucho esta noche, y solo diré unas palabras.
El Maestro estaba deseoso por terminar su mensaje, pero vio tu condición y no le disgustó que no escribieras.
Así que, cariño, mantén tu valor y tu fe, y reza, y serás más feliz y tus deseos se verán realizados.

Lázaro dice que no estaba muerto cuando Jesús lo resucitó. Confirma que Jesús escribe a través del sr. Padgett (5 agosto 1915)
Estoy aquí, Lázaro.
Yo fui a quien Jesús llamó de la tumba. Sólo quiero decir que no estaba muerto cuando resucité, sino que dormía en el sueño de la muerte. Pero no era completamente un espíritu separado de mi cuerpo. Lo sé porque si hubiera sido un espíritu completamente separado, Jesús no podría haberme devuelto a la vida. Una vez liberado por completo del cuerpo, ningún espíritu puede nunca regresar a él y reanimarlo. Sé que la Biblia dice ─o que se infiere a partir de lo que dice─ que yo estaba muerto, pero esto no es cierto, como ya he dicho.
Ahora me encuentro en los Ámbitos Celestiales, en una esfera no numerada, aunque muy cerca de aquellas en las que viven los discípulos.
Mis hermanas también están en los Ámbitos Celestiales. Todos creímos en las enseñanzas del Maestro y, en consecuencia, nos imbuimos de su doctrina sobre la necesidad de que el Amor Divino entre en nuestras almas.
Mientras estábamos en la tierra, Jesús nos enseñó que Dios había vuelto a otorgar al hombre este Amor Divino, y lo creímos. Sé que a los discípulos se les enseñó esta misma doctrina, pero desconozco hasta qué punto la comprendieron. Es extraño que no lo declararan en sus evangelios, pero así parece ser, y es incomprensible por qué esta importante verdad no se conservó ni se enseñó en sus escritos. Sé que es la verdad, y que sólo quienes han recibido este Amor en sus corazones pueden llegar a ser habitantes de los Ámbitos Celestiales. Los hombres pueden negarse a creer en esta Gran Verdad si así lo desean, y pensar que, asistiendo a la iglesia y adorando a Dios de boquilla en el oficio, podrán entrar en el Reino; pero van a ver que están equivocados.
Así pues, en tus enseñanzas, que esta gran verdad sea la piedra angular de lo que sea que enseñes.
Soy sumamente feliz y deseo que toda la humanidad lo sea.
Acudí a ti para informarte de estas verdades de modo que mi testimonio se pueda sumar al de quienes te hayan escrito.
Jesús está en el mundo espiritual obrando para enseñar a hombres y a espíritus sus verdades. Él acude a ti, y te escribe, y debes creer en este hecho, porque lo es.

Lázaro
Jesús dice que su sangre no salva a los hombres. Sólo el Amor Divino o el Nuevo Nacimiento que él enseñó salva y redime (19 septiembre 1915)
Estoy aquí, Jesús.
Escuché la conversación entre tú y el otro hombre sobre mi sangre como algo que salva del pecado, y sentí que no te benefició lo que se dijo, porque su fe se basa en la ignorancia del verdadero plan de salvación y de mi misión en la tierra.
Pero él está tan firmemente arraigado en su creencia que ningún argumento que pudieras presentar lo convencería de otra cosa que no fuera que mi muerte y expiación pudieron salvar del pecado. Entonces, no creo que sirva de nada intentar discutir con ninguna de estas personas sobre el asunto de mi sangre como medio de salvación.
Ellos han recibido el Amor Divino en gran medida, y el Espíritu Santo está con ellos en su adoración y en sus corazones, pero tal cosa no les llega debido a su creencia en mi expiación, sino porque oran al Padre para que acuda y los transforme en un nuevo ser en lo que respecta al desarrollo de sus almas. Ellos no saben que sólo la afluencia de este Amor Divino en sus corazones en respuesta a la oración es lo que les da este Nuevo Nacimiento.
Creen que mi sangre tiene algo, o mejor dicho, que es la gran y única causa de este Nuevo Nacimiento, y seguirán creyéndolo. Yo de ti no permitiría que este asunto te disuada de asistir a sus reuniones, porque, como he dicho, el espíritu [spirit] está presente con ellos. Claro que van a entender las cosas de otra manera cuando lleguen al mundo espiritual y vean que no soy Dios.
Sí, sé que eso es lo que creen todos los ortodoxos, pero eso no lo convierte en un hecho, pues ningún demonio viene jamás a enseñar las cosas que te he escrito.
Ya no escribiré más.
Entonces, con la seguridad de que estoy contigo muy a menudo y de que te guiaré por los caminos de la verdad, me detendré.

John – Divine Love is ever waiting to fill the soul, and will, when the soul longings become real for its possession. (11 Jul 1917)
I AM HERE. St. John.
I heard your prayer and know that this Love is flowing into your soul and that now you have a great abundance of its possession of which you are conscious. It will never fail you when you pray in earnestness and with the real longings for its coming. It is always ready to respond to your aspirations and to make you feel its presence and the happiness that comes with it.
I, as you know, am your special friend in my work of helping to develop your soul, and whenever you pray to the Father, as you have just prayed, I come to you with my love and influence to help open up your soul to the inflowing of this Love. Have faith, and you will have the certainty of the presence of the Love, and that it is yours – seeking to come into your soul in greater and more abundance.
You are blessed in that you have the knowledge of the existence of this Love, and that it may be yours if you so will it to be, and pray with the true longings of your soul’s desires. You cannot doubt the truth of what I write, for, as in the ordinary things of life, there is nothing so convincing as personal experience, and your experience is such that there has been no room for doubt. So if you would keep the consciousness of the presence of this Love continually alive, pray and pray whenever the opportunity presents itself, and by this I don’t mean that you shall wait for a time when you are not engaged in your business affairs, but at moments when the mind may be free, even if only for a moment, from these business affairs. The longings, if exercised only for a moment, will bring their results; for God’s ear is always open and ready to cause the responses to such longings.
One moment of true soul felt longings is more effective than hours of prayer where these longings are not present. The prayers of the lip or of habit arises no higher than the escaping breath, and does not cause the Love to respond and flow into the soul. Remember this, and then realize how futile are all the prayers of preachers and ostensible worshipers when the soul’s longings and desires are not present.
Only soul can call to soul, and love responds only when such soul calls. The mere desires of the mind, if I may so express my meaning, do not in the least affect the soul, and as mind can operate only on mind, there cannot possibly be any activity of the soul’s faculties, when only mind is in operation. Hence, you will see, that all the worship that comes merely from the mind will not effectuate the working of the Love or bring into operation the Spirit’s work.
I write this to further encourage you, and also to make plain the necessity for the true prayer.

Jesus says those who worship him as they do in the churches commit blasphemy (6 May 1917)
I AM HERE, Jesus.
I was with you at the church this morning, and I impressed you with my feelings in reference to what the preacher said as to my sacrifice and blood and, instead of calling upon his people to show their gratitude for the sacrifice and the cross, he should have taught them that the sacrifice and the blood do not save them from their sins, and in that particular there is nothing that calls for their gratitude; and that to worship me as they do, and as he teaches them to do, is blasphemy, and a more heinous sin than ingratitude.
I was successful in impressing you with my feelings of dissatisfaction and was glad that I could, for it shows that our rapport is becoming closer, and after awhile you will be able to receive my thoughts and inspiration as well as my writings.
You must pray and have faith, and if you do you will more often have the experiences that you did last night; which only means a quicker soul development.
Trust me and you will not be disappointed.
I will not write more now.
So with my love and the Father’s blessings, I will say good night.

Helen comments on Mr. Padgett’s condition (6 May 1917)
I AM HERE, your own true and loving Helen.
Well dear, I see that you do not feel like writing much tonight, and I will say only a few words.
The Master was anxious to finish his message, but he saw your condition and was not displeased that you did not write.
So sweetheart, keep up your courage and faith and pray, and you will be happier and realize your desires.

Lazarus says he was not dead when he was raised by Jesus. Confirms that Jesus writes through Mr. Padgett. (5 Aug 1915)
I AM HERE, Lazarus.
I was the one whom Jesus called from the grave. I merely want to say that I was not dead when I was resurrected but had on me the sleep of death. But I was not entirely a spirit separated from my body. I know this, because if I had been a wholly separated spirit, Jesus could not have brought me to life again. No spirit, once entirely liberated from the body, can ever return to it and reanimate the body. I know the Bible says or the inference from what it says, is that I was dead, but this is not true as I have above stated.
I am now in the Celestial Heavens in a sphere that is not numbered, but very near those in which the disciples live.
My sisters are also in the Celestial Heavens. We all believed in the teachings of the Master, and consequently became imbued with his doctrine of the necessity for the Divine Love to come into our souls.
While on earth Jesus did teach us that God had again bestowed on man this Divine Love and we believed it. I know that the disciples were taught this same doctrine, but just how far they understood this teaching I do not know. It is strange and they did not declare it in their Gospels, but such seems to be the fact, and it is unaccountable why this important truth was not preserved and taught in their writings. I know that it is the truth and that only those who have received this Love in their hearts can become inhabitants of the Celestial Heavens. Men may refuse to believe this Great Truth if they will, and think that by attending church and worshipping God in their service with their lips, they will be able to enter the Kingdom but they will find themselves mistaken.
So in your teachings, let this great truth be the cornerstone of whatever you may teach.
I am supremely happy and want all mankind to be so.
I came to you to inform you of these truths so that my testimony may be added to that of those who may have written to you.
Jesus is in the spiritual world working to teach men and spirits his truths. He comes to you and writes and you must believe the fact for it is a fact.

Jesus says his blood does not save men. Only the Divine Love or New Birth that he taught saves and redeems. (19 Sep 1915)
I AM HERE, Jesus.
I heard the discussion between you and the other man about my blood saving from sin, and I felt that you were not benefitted by what was said, because his faith is based on ignorance of the true plan of salvation and my mission on earth.
But he is so firmly fixed in his belief that no argument that you might make would convince him that anything but my death and atonement could save from sin. So I do not think it would do any good to attempt to argue with any of these people in reference to the matter of my blood as the means of salvation.
They have received the Divine Love to a considerable degree and the Holy Spirit is with them in their worship and is in their hearts, but it does not come to them by reason of their belief in my atonement, but because they pray to the Father for its coming and making them a new being so far as their soul development is concerned. They do not know that only the flowing of this Divine Love into their hearts in answer to prayer is what gives them this New Birth.
They think that my blood has something, or rather that it is the great and only cause of this New Birth and they will continue to think so. I would not let this matter deter you from attending their meetings because, as I have said, the spirit is present with them. Of course they will learn differently when they come to the spirit world and see that I am not God.
Yes, I know that is what all the orthodox believe but that does not make it a fact, for no devil ever comes and teaches the things that I have written you.
I will not write more now.
So with the assurance that I am with you very often, and that I will guide you in the ways of truth, I will stop.
