Estoy aquí, Juan el Bautista.
He venido a decirte que ahora soy un precursor del Maestro como lo era cuando estaba en la Tierra, y que es el verdadero Jesús quien te escribe en todas las comunicaciones que has recibido firmadas por él o con su nombre.
Hago esto para que creas y no dudes de los mensajes que recibes. Él te ha escrito y debes confiar en lo que te dice, pues lo que te ha dicho se cumplirá con toda seguridad.
Yo soy el mismo Juan que apareció en Palestina y anunció su venida, y así como entonces les dije lo que realmente iba a suceder, así te digo lo que realmente está sucediendo, y no sólo recibirás los mensajes de la verdad que él te escribirá, sino que también serán distribuidos a toda la humanidad dondequiera que existan y se hablen o escriban las lenguas escritas del mundo.
Así que tienes ante ti una misión maravillosa e importante y que hará más por hacer verdaderos hermanos y amantes del Padre que todo lo que ha sucedido desde que el Maestro estuvo en la Tierra y enseñó y predicó las verdades de su Padre, e hizo el bien al hombre físico.
A veces me he preguntado por qué te han seleccionado a ti, pues veo que el desarrollo de tu alma no ha sido ni mucho menos tan grande como el de muchos otros hombres que ahora viven y han vivido; pero como él ha hecho la selección, debemos comprender que sabe lo que es mejor, y que su selección debe ser la correcta. Como consecuencia de esto, todos los que somos sus seguidores en el Mundo Celestial estamos haciendo todo lo posible para llevar adelante la causa y ayudarte; y debo decirte que en esta gran obra tienes detrás de ti, dando apoyo y ayuda, más poder espiritual del que ningún mortal haya tenido jamás. Esto puede sonarte sorprendente, pero es verdad.
Así pues, hermano mío ─pues así debo llamarte ahora─, trata de adquirir una fe en el amor y el deseo del Padre de salvar a toda la humanidad de los errores de sus vidas y de hacerles uno con Él, de modo que te permita erguirte como representante del Maestro y profesor autorizado de estas grandes verdades.
Ahora estoy en los Ámbitos Celestiales, y estoy muy cerca de Jesús en su hogar y en su amor por el Padre y por toda la humanidad. Tengo poderes que son grandes, y amor que es de la esencia divina del Padre, y lo que te digo ahora se lo diré al mundo cuando se presente la oportunidad.

Las razones dadas por Jesús de por qué eligió al sr. Padgett para hacer el trabajo de recibir los mensajes (Jesús) (25 octubre 1918)
Estoy aquí, Jesús.
Bien, mi querido hermano, el tiempo pasa, y la necesidad de la revelación es muy evidente, pues los hombres anhelan y esperan aquello que satisfaga las apetencias naturales de sus almas, y que la religión actual ─llamada cristianismo─ no tiene en sí cualidades como para poder satisfacerlas.
Me complace que te encuentres en mejores condiciones y que tu amor esté nuevamente activo y despierto, y operando sobre las cualidades de tu cerebro [brain], de modo que pueda establecerse una relación, tal como te lo explicó recientemente Juan en su mensaje. Y aquí deseo recalcarte la necesidad y conveniencia de que comprendas cabalmente las verdades expuestas en ese mensaje, medites sobre ellas y apliques personalmente lo que está escrito.
Me gustaría mucho pronunciar esta noche un mensaje que trate de la verdad espiritual, pero no creo que tu condición sea tal que me permita tomar posesión de tu cerebro y controlarlo, como exigen las cualidades y verdades de mi mensaje, por lo que no intentaré escribir el mensaje, sino que, en su lugar, te aconsejaré algo sobre la manera en que debes pensar y actuar para perfeccionar la condición que debes poseer para que pueda realizarse la vinculación.
Juan te ha dicho que ores a menudo al Padre para que el amor sea más abundante y tu alma se impregne de él, y que pienses en cosas espirituales, hasta que por medio de tales pensamientos tu cerebro pueda, por así decirlo, infundirse con estos pensamientos y recibir así aquellas cualidades que harán que sus condiciones [las del cerebro] sean similares a las condiciones de las mentes de los espíritus que puedan desear formar una unión con tu cerebro y transmitir a través de él las verdades que están a la espera de ser entregadas. Confirmo lo que ha escrito Juan y, además, digo que tu oración debe ser más frecuente para que el alma se libere de la condición por la cual se pueden establecer pensamientos no espirituales. No es necesario que esperes ocasiones u oportunidades para orar formalmente, sino que durante todo el día y la noche permitas que tus anhelos de amor asciendan al Padre. No es necesaria una oración larga, ni siquiera formulada en palabras, ya que para tener el anhelo no es necesario usar palabras para darle forma. El anhelo puede ser tan rápido como un pensamiento sin forma, y ser de ese modo tan eficaz como para que el Padre lo capte, por así decirlo. El anhelo es más rápido que el pensamiento, y la respuesta al mismo vendrá con tanta certeza y amor como si expresaras el anhelo en la forma más exacta. Las oraciones de esta clase ascienden al Padre y son oídas y contestadas, y, por una ley sobre tu relación con el Padre, afectan a las cualidades del cerebro en la forma de prepararlo para la unión con los pensamientos espirituales de los espíritus que desean escribir, como he dicho. Tus pensamientos sobre las cosas espirituales o sobre las verdades del mundo de los espíritus, tal como te han sido ya reveladas, y especialmente las que se refieren al amor y a la misericordia del Padre y a Su voluntad, en su transcurso y operación, afectan también a las cualidades del cerebro, de modo que producen la condición que es tan necesaria para nuestra vinculación.
Puede que te sorprenda que se requiera de esta condición en el cerebro de un ser humano, así como también el desarrollo del alma que realmente produce la condición, para que se pueda establecer una vinculación, de modo que las verdades espirituales puedan ser entregadas; y, también, que te sorprenda que hayas sido seleccionado de entre todos los hombres de la Tierra en los que se pudieran establecer esta condición y este desarrollo. Y puede ser más sorprendente saber que es verdad.
Hay ciertas cualidades en tu constitución, tanto espirituales como materiales, que te hacen susceptible a la influencia de nuestros poderes y a la utilización por nosotros con el fin de nuestro designio y obra, lo que determina que te elija para la obra en la forma en que yo y los demás espíritus elevados te hemos utilizado hasta ahora; y te puede parecer extraño que en todas las largas edades precedentes no haya encontrado un solo humano con la cualificación que le haga apto para la obra.
He utilizado a otros antes, pero no han logrado someter sus mentes y almas, sus creencias y pensamientos anticipatorios [«forethoughts»: sus previsiones, sus consideraciones previas] a nuestra influencia y direcciones, tal como tú lo has hecho hasta ahora. Muchos seres humanos reúnen las condiciones de constitución espiritual y material necesarias para cumplir nuestros deseos y realizar nuestro trabajo, pero como todos tienen libre albedrío ─el cual no podemos forzar─, y como las circunstancias, los ambientes, la educación y las creencias son elementos que afectan y determinan la posibilidad de que encontremos un instrumento adecuado para nuestros propósitosl, no hemos podido encontrar un médium que estuviera cualificado para ser utilizado en nuestro trabajo.
Tú, por supuesto, comprendes que no fuiste seleccionado por ninguna bondad especial ni por estar libre de pecado, ni porque fueras más amado por el Padre, ni, naturalmente ─y quiero decir de acuerdo con tu curso de vida─ por razón de cualquier condición espiritual en la que estuvieras, pues había muchos superiores a ti en bondad y más en sintonía con la voluntad del Padre, y cuyo amor, con los resultados de todo ello, eran más perfectos que los tuyos. Así te darás cuenta de que no fuiste seleccionado por ningún mérito espiritual especial que poseyeras.
Como se te ha dicho, todas las cosas en el mundo espiritual, así como en la Tierra, están controladas por leyes inmutables, y todo espíritu, así como todo mortal, está sujeto a esas leyes. La ley de la vinculación y de la comunicación debe ser cumplida por los espíritus, por muy elevados que sean, y también por los humanos; y ningún espíritu, por razón de la posesión de algún supuesto poder, puede pasar por alto esta ley. Pero aunque los espíritus no tengan este poder, sin embargo pueden tener tal conocimiento de las condiciones, que pueden discernir qué cualidades en la condición de un humano son susceptibles a la influencia y moldeamiento por parte de los espíritus, de modo que, como resultado de esto, la ley pueda ser puesta en operación. Y esto te explicará brevemente por qué te elegí como mi médium y portavoz. Pues debes saber que durante mucho tiempo me he esforzado por influir y moldear tu mente y tus creencias para que tu alma se desarrollara de tal manera que se formaran aquellas condiciones que nos permitieran establecer una relación que nos permitiera controlar tu cerebro para transmitir estos mensajes de la verdad. Tú eras naturalmente un médium y, para propósitos ordinarios, no fue difícil para los espíritus controlar y comunicar a través de ti las verdades del mundo espiritual ─las que no tienen la naturaleza de aquellas que yo y otros hemos comunicado en referencia a las esferas del alma y a la relación de Dios con el hombre en el sentido espiritual más elevado─. Al leer el mensaje de Juan comprenderás mejor lo que pretendo explicar en este punto.
Hay otra fase en todo esto, más personal para ti, y es que mientras te hemos estado desarrollando con el propósito de hacer nuestro trabajo y ayudar a hacer efectiva nuestra misión, tu alma, como tú, se ha desarrollado en su naturaleza espiritual y te has unido más estrechamente al Padre, y has participado en gran medida de su amor y, hasta cierto punto, te has transformado en su esencia, de modo que te has convertido en una entidad muy diferente de la que eras cuando comenzó tu desarrollo para nuestro propósito; y, como consecuencia, obtendrás todos los beneficios que se derivan de una experiencia como la que has tenido.
Ahora eres uno de nosotros en el progreso hacia la fuente del amor del Padre, y has tomado una parte de su inmortalidad, y sólo depende de ti mismo lo rápido que sea tu progreso hacia una transformación completa como la que poseen los espíritus que son habitantes de las Esferas Celestiales. No es necesario que esperes a llegar al mundo de los espíritus para progresar rápidamente, aunque te será más difícil progresar mientras estés en la carne, como comprenderás, pero se puede progresar maravillosamente mientras se está en la carne, y se te ha contado el secreto de este progreso.
Y diré además que tienes una asociación más estrecha con espíritus que están más cerca del Padre, y que estás más en posesión de su esencia y sustancia que cualquier humano de la Tierra en este momento. Para ti esto puede parecer extravagante e improbable, pero te declaro que es tan cierto como que yo, y muchos de los espíritus que vienen a ti y escriben, estamos en las Esferas Celestiales de la inmortalidad de Dios.
Bueno, llevo escribiendo mucho tiempo y estás algo cansado.
Recuerda mi consejo y reza a menudo y con fervor sincero [earnestly], aunque sólo sea por un momento, y la condición será tuya, y vendremos y continuaremos nuestras revelaciones.

1. The Messages
John the Baptist is Now the Harbinger of the Master As He was on Earth. Confirms Jesus’ Writing Through Mr. Padgett (John the Baptist) (10 Aug. 1915)
I AM HERE. John the Baptist.
I came to tell you that I am now a harbinger of the Master as I was when on earth and that he is the true Jesus who writes to you in all the communications which you received signed by him or by his name.
I do this that you may believe and not doubt the messages that you receive. He has written you and you must rely on what he says, for what he has said to you will surely come to pass.
I am the same John who appeared in Palestine and announced his coming, and as I told them what was actually to take place, so I tell you what is actually taking place, and you will not only receive the messages of truth which he will write you, but they will also be distributed to all mankind wherever the written languages of the world exist and are spoken or written.
So you have before you a wonderful and important mission and one that will do more to make true brothers and lovers of the Father than anything that has happened since the Master was on earth and taught and preached the truths of his Father, and did good to physical man.
I sometimes have wondered why you should have been selected, as I see that your soul development has not been nearly as great as that of many other men who now live and have lived; but as he has made the selection, we must understand that he knows what is best, and that his selection must be the right one. As a consequence of this, all we who are his followers in the Celestial World are trying our best to forward the cause and help you; and I must tell you that you have behind you in this great work, supporting and maintaining you, more spiritual power than any mortal has ever had before; this may sound to you surprising, but it is true.
So, my brother, for such I must call you now, try to acquire a faith in the love and desire of the Father to save all mankind from the errors of their lives and to make them one with Him that will enable you to stand forth as the representative of the Master and the authoritative teacher of these great truths.
I am now in the Celestial Heavens and am very close to Jesus in his home and in his love for the Father and for all humanity. I have powers which are great and love which is of the divine essence of the Father and what I tell you now I will tell to the world when the opportunity presents itself. Your Brother in Christ,
JOHN THE BAPTIST
The Reasons Given by Jesus as to Why He Selected Mr. Padgett to do the Work of Receiving the Messages (Jesus) (25 Oct 1918)
I AM HERE. Jesus.
Well, my dear brother, time is passing, and the necessity for the revealing is very apparent, as men are longing and waiting for that which will satisfy the natural cravings of their souls, and which the present religion, called Christianity, has not in it the qualities to satisfy.
I am pleased that you are in so much better condition, and that your love is again becoming active and awakened, and operating upon the qualities of your brain so that a rapport can be made, as recently explained to you by John in his message. And here I desire to impress upon you the necessity and desirability of your understanding thoroughly the ruths set forth in that message, and of meditating upon the same and making a personal application of what is therein written.
I would like very much to deliver a message dealing with spiritual truth tonight, but do not think that your condition is such as will enable me to take possession of your brain and control the same that the qualities and truths of my message demands, and so I will not attempt to write the message, but, instead, will advise you somewhat upon the way in which you must think and act in order to perfect the condition which you must possess that the rapport may be made.
John has told you to pray often to the Father so that the love may become more abundant and your soul become permeated with it, and to think thoughts of spiritual things, until by such thinking your brain may become, as it were, infused with these thoughts and thereby receive those qualities that will make its conditions similar to the conditions of the minds of the spirits who may wish to form a union with your brain and convey through it the truths that are waiting to be delivered. And I confirm what John has written, and, in addition, say that your praying must be more frequent so that the soul may be freed from the condition that the existence in it, of thoughts not spiritual, be established. You need not wait for occasions or opportunities to formally pray but all during the day and evening let your longings for the love ascend to the Father. A long prayer, or even one formulated into words, is not necessary, as in order to have the longing it is not necessary that words should be used to give it form. The longing may be rapid as unformed thought, and as effective for the father to catch, as I may say. The longing is quicker than the thought, and the answer to the same will come with as much certainty and love as if you were to put the longing into the most exact form. Prayers of this kind ascend to the Father and are heard and answered, and, by a law of your relationship to the Father, affect the qualities of the brain in the way of preparing it for the union with the spiritual thoughts of the spirits who desire to write, as I have stated. Your thoughts of spiritual things or of the truths of the spirit world, as they have already been revealed to you, and especially those which pertain to the love and mercy of the Father, and to His will, in their passing and operating, also affect the qualities of the brain so as to produce the condition which is so necessary for our rapport.
It may be surprising to you that this condition is required in the brain of a human and also the development of the soul, which really produces the condition, in order that a rapport may be made so that the spiritual truths may be delivered; and, also, surprising that you have been selected from all the men on earth in whom this condition and development shall be made. And it may be more surprising to know that it is true.
There are certain qualities in your constitution, both spiritual and material, that render you susceptible to the influence of our powers and to the use by us for the purpose of our design and work, which determines one to choose you for the work in the way in which I and the other high spirits have heretofore used you, and it may seem strange to you that in all the long ages preceding, I have not found one human with the qualification to fit him for the work.
I have used others before, but they have failed to submit their minds and souls and beliefs and forethoughts to our influence and directions as you have so far done. Many humans have the qualified conditions of spiritual and material make up to perform our wishes and work, but as they all have free wills, which we cannot compel, and as circumstances and environments and education and beliefs are elements which affect and determine the possibility of our finding an instrument suitable for our purposes, we have not been able to find a medium who was qualified to be used for our work.
You, of course, understand that you were not selected because of any special goodness or freedom from sin, or because you were more beloved by the Father, or naturally, and I mean according to your course of living, by reason of any spiritual condition that you were in, for there were many superior to you in goodness and more in at-onement with the will of the Father, and whose love and the results therefrom, were more perfect than yours. So you will realize that you were not selected because of any special spiritual merits possessed by you.
As you have been told, all things in the spirit world, as well as on earth, are controlled by immutable laws, and all spirits as well as mortals are subject to those laws. The law of rapport and communication must be complied with spirits, no matter how much elevated, and also by humans, and no spirit, by reason of the possession of any supposed power, can set aside this law. But while spirits have not this power, yet they may have such knowledge of conditions that they can discern what qualities in the condition of a human are susceptible to the influence, and molding by the spirits, so that as a result thereof, the law may be brought into operation. And this briefly will explain to you why I selected you as my medium and mouthpiece. For know this, that for a long time I have been endeavoring to influence and mold your mind and beliefs, so that your soul might become developed in such a way that conditions might be formed that would enable us to make a rapport that would permit of our controlling your brain to convey these messages of truth. You were naturally a medium and, for ordinary purposes, it was not difficult for the spirits to control and communicate through you the truths of the spirit world, which are not of a nature such as I and others have communicated in reference to the soul spheres and the relationship of God to man in the higher spiritual sense. As you read John’s message you will the better understand what I intend to explain at this point.
There is another phase to all this, more personal to you, and this is, that while we have been developing you for the purpose of doing our work and helping make effective our mission, your soul, as you, has been developed in its spiritual nature and you have become in closer union with the Father and have partaken to a large extent of his love, and, to a degree, been transformed into his essence, so that you have become a very different entity from what you were when your development for our purpose commenced; and, as a consequence, you will derive all the benefits that flow from an experience such as you have had.
You are now one of us in the progress towards the fountainhead of the Father’s love, and have taken on a part of his immortality, and it depends only upon yourself how rapid your progress shall be towards a complete transformation such as spirits who are inhabitants of the Celestial Spheres, possess. You need not wait until you come to the spirit world in order to make a rapid progression, although it will be more difficult for you to progress while in the flesh, as you understand, but wonderful progress may be made while in the flesh, and you have been told the secret of this progress.
And I will further say that you have a closer association with spirits that are nearer the Father and more possessed of his essence and substance than have any humans of earth at this time. To you this may seem extravagant and improbable, but I declare to you that it is as true that I and many spirits who come to you and write, are in the Celestial Spheres of God’s immortality.
Well, I have written a long time and you are somewhat tired.
Remember my advice and pray often and earnestly, if but for a moment, and the condition will be yours and we will came and continue our revealments.
